Imagine that everytime you complete a game, you get a lottery ticket with a 5% chance of jackpot (number is random for the example). If you quit during a game, you dont get that ticket.
If you complete 5 out of 5 games, you get 5 chances to win that jackpot (5% chance each time). But if you complete 2 out of 5 games, you get 2 chances to win that jackpot (still 5% chance each time).
Quitting doesnt reduce the 5% chance of winning, it only give you less tickets to try your luck. You can still win the jackpot if you quit 99% of your games (you might also get a quit ban), the only difference is that the players completing their games get more tickets than you-> able to try their luck more often than you. That doesnt mean that they will get it before you.
