Subject: Why should I work for Bungie?

As a current psych major, I would highly recommend it if you have any interest in it already.

I'd be happy enough just calling myself a Bungie employee.

The demand for video game developers is much lower than the applicants, to get a job at Bungie you would most likely need experience at a less known company. Just because they caught a break with HALO doesn't mean they are all millionaires. They might be but chances are they might have just gotten a nice bonus.
I do not work there so I cant really tell you but I would stay away from the industry making a successful game is 1 in a million, if its your passion then do it, but just know it will more than likely not make you rich and wealthy.

For those in the industry, it's not about wealth. It's about having fun doing that you love to do.

And snacks.

If you have a good fallback plan, like a solid one. Go for it.

But there'll be thousands if not millions of kids who want positions like that, it's like a lawyer only harder to get in and more fun.

But if you do chase it, I wish you luck. The kids who do end up getting the job are usually the ones who go all out.

Why should I work for Bungie?
One of the designers stopped by my desk yesterday and asked me two questions about game design. I not only didn't know the answers, they were questions that had never even occurred to me before.

There aren't many jobs where that happens.
What were they?

I work at a movie theater. One time, while cleaning a theater, I found women's underwear on the floor.

The question "Why the -blam!- are there panties on the floor" hadn't occured to me before either.

The point is, this probably happens to people in every job.

Been playing since halo 3 back when halo was something.

One thing that would make it for me is the just being a part of the bungie family and being let into all the secrets of their company.

Nothing to see here citizen.

Medical, dental and vision benefits. It will be hard to find better coverage.
401K with a generous match. Your future self will thank you.
Highly-competitive compensation. This includes salary, performance bonus and profit sharing on titles.
One of the best time-off/holiday plans east AND west of the Mississippi.
Paid health club/gym membership to counteract the continuous supply of delicious snacks and treats.
Creative, comfy and collaborative working environment. See the pictures.
Continuous flow of Bungie 'love.' Think pentathlons, Bungie Day, food trucks and foosball. Little things to show we care.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

You should be asking: "Why should Bungie hire me?"

Work hard, and one day that opportunity might arise.

Rock bottom is no place to set up camp. Especially in the dark.

With all of the stuff I've read, I really would love to work here some day. :o I know getting hired here is nowhere near a surefire thing, but I just really wanted to know the benefits. I'm leaning more towards graphic design now, bit I still have several years to decide which industry I want to go into.

Thanks for all of the feedback, guys.
(And no, I didn't see the 'about us' section. :x )

The real question is, why wouldn't you work for Bungie?

They're completely different from other game devs. I mean, what other company does a pentatholan? NONE! Except for Bungie.

What company is the most involved in their community? Bungie.

What company has stosh? Foman's mom (aka Bungie for the stupids out there).

What company is as good as Bungie? Bungie (those selfish SOBs).

There's actually a job at Valve for a Psychologist. Not even joking.

Free snacks?

At least that's what I'm interested in.

That's a best case scenario.

Because no other company has a 7 step world domination plan (or at least one they admit to...)
