Everything you know is wrong.

What if Slayer was based on time rather than a fixed score to win? I always thought that would be interesting to try, but I have never given it a shot. The resembles more of a sports game, or a race against time. (has this ever been done, by the way?)

I would also like to mention that I have always thought an overtime would be a nice feature in Slayer if a tie game occurred at the end of regulation. Even now, I think that sounds like a good idea.

NOW, don't think about all the negatives and what not--just think about the general concept about the idea. Feel free to discuss.

What I'm getting at, is say the average game to 50 takes 8 minutes. If one team is completely dominating the other, after 8 minutes the score is 50-7. Now say that slayer is based on time, example would be 15 minutes. That good team would get to play the bad kids for an extra 7 minutes, therefore padding their stats against inferior players.

imagine you're playing a team of noobs. normally you own them in five minutes. but now you have 15 minutes to own them and pad your stats.

my personal thought: there would be a lot more quitting, which would really ruin it.

How about this instead: Normal game of Team Slayer, except this time the team that has more kills than the other team gains a point each second of the game. At the end of the game the team with the highest point total (not including kills, etc) wins the game. That way that the team that has been ahead (1st place) for most of the game wins.

I dunno, kind of a "keep first" type of gametype. Could be better in FFA but then again I am tired so this idea could be -blam!-.
