I'm noticing (or have been for the past year) that pinned threads get completely ignored in the clamor of the forums. For instance, in the Underground, Halo threads constantly get posted there, even though there is a sticky named "THIS IS NOT A HALO BOARD". They're there for a reason, which is to be read.

Now, numerous people completely ignore them, which baffles me. Do they just not notice them? If that is the case, then maybe the stickies should have a brighter font color for the title, they tend to blend in too much.

Is there another reason why they are ignored? Maybe. But, that reason escapes me.

yes, the underground is not a halo board, but it is also the bungie old-skool forum and bungie general. Therefore, halo does belong there.

However, there are also many, many halo forums, and they should take 99% of all halo discussion. However, if there is something about halo that is generalized, and doesn't belong in any of the other forums, then its home is in the underground.

And people don't ignore the pinned topics, just the rules.

Now most halo threads were about H3. This was of course before the H3 forum came out and there was nowhere to put them.

Because people don't come here to read the rules. they come to either be idiots or to voice there opinion in what ever way they see fit. The few people who are inteligent and respect the community do take the time to read the rules.

There should be a thicker bar between the stickies and the normal posts, at least.

Oddly enough if you make the sticky have movement or somewhat of a blinking "picture" , if you will, that would bring more attention to them. As the eyes always focus in on movement..

Facts are the enemy of tru7h....

Persoannly, i blame the icons. It's very dark compared to the recent tpoic icon so people just ignore it. Plus it's Orange/Red, which is the colour for Stop, which, although it makes sense -'Stop, read this before continuing', has negative connotations, Vs. the Green of the recent topic icon which evokes Go (and post any random crap becasue this topic is active). I know that sounds like a load of artistic nonsense but believe it or not there is some merrit in it. The animated icon is a good idea but they can also be annoying, it depends on how its done...

Beyond that, people will always be stupid. The problem is that when you're interacting with the forums you're the only real person there. So obviously your opinion is more important than some old rules. Thats also the problem with the internet in general. And thats why we have mods who can ban people at will.
