Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.
These are my problems with Halo Reach: (my opinion)
- THE MORE FAST PACED HALO IS, THE LESS CARNAGE THERE IS. HALO IS NOT ABOUT KILLS!
In H3 you could hold one of many key positions without being overpowered. THIS IS STRATEGY! IN REACH YOU ARE OVERPOWERED AND VULNERABLE. In Reach there are few strategies that are not cheap. (e.g. Because the dmr is overpowered, people are able to hide safetly and get many kills. Evade is another example.)
- Reach replaced style with graphics. (e.g. The visual style of Halo 3's campaign made it a lot more fun.)
In Conclusion
I believe halo should be a battle of attrition where strategy is paramount. Chess involves great strategy because the pieces have so little ability. The same principle applies to spartans.
This is what I hope to see in Halo 4(or 5):
- More opportunities to "vehicle surf" ;)
- While loadouts are probably a bad idea, armor abilities should definetly remain. One
solution would be to make them like halo 3 equipment.
- No invincible allies like Kat.
- I wanna ride a land turtle! :D
- At least one campaign mission where you can kill a scarab.
- Marines that follow you in campaign.
- I hate bloom.
- Jetpack + mongoose = ?.
- Special ghosts that can drive over water?
- If friendly fire is enabled in mm then betrayal booting should be turned off.
