Practise makes prefect, but nobody's perfect so why practise.
I love the fact that people here are forgetting that games are played for FUN, and to force players to play games that are just unenjoyable makes no sense.
What needs to be considered is the underlying problem behind why people quit in the first place, the main reasons being:
Bad map
Bad gametype
Bad host/lag
Bad matchmaking system
Unbalanced gameplay
So to reduce the number of players who quit games, the conditions of why people quit should be dealt with.
The maps in Reach are poorly designed and have had no thought put in to how map design affects gameplay, so more people quit due to bad/unenjoyable gameplay on certain maps.
Some gametypes, such as Elite Slayer in TS for example, result in bad or annoying gameplay, so more people quit for that reason.
Host advantage, bad lag and other connection issues may make people decide to quit, or just disconnect people from the game.
The matchmaking system in Reach is terrible and matches players quickly and not bothering on finding the best players to play against each other. Halo 3 took longer to match me up with people, but it was nearly always a fair match and matched me up with players similar to my skill level. Reach does not do this and I end up getting matched up quickly aginst people who have a much lower skill than I do.
Unbalanced weapons and mainly vehichles may force people to quit too, like for example in BTB where someone spawn traps you with the banshee or the wraith.
The quit ban doesn't even work, more people quit in Reach than they ever did in Halo 2/3. There's loads of reasons why you would quit, so punishing you for quiting a few games is insane. The quit ban needs to be removed and the reasons why you would quit needs to be sorted out.
