MROS (Mindless Rabble of Scientists) - A group to discuss any aspect of science

Hard is good.

Yesterday I was trying to help a feller by linking this thread to play BF3 on the xbox.

I didn't have it saved so I typed in "Septagon Multiplayer Server Database"

and well... you try it out.

The thread was in my recent posts thankfully, but how can a search function simply not be able to search that? Is it not meant to be specific but search for a broader topic?

Bungie.Match.com: Our Johnson knows what the ladies like.

I've never been able to use that damn thing.

Edit: I tend to avoid using the searchbar unless I'm looking for gamertags, recent posts, users or groups. It's pretty useless for actual forum and news criteria.

Barely. It sometimes works if you know the exact thread you are looking for.

Otherwise, a useful trick is to just use Google to search Bungie.net for you. To do that, go to Google and type in the following:
site:www.bungie.net <your search terms here>

Who the hell do you think I am?

The search bar has never been useful.

The Song Of Nephilim

Xenoblade <3

I find it quite useless. I tend to just use google if I ever want to see old posts by me.

This thread would have appealed to me more if it was written with crayons.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

Yeah I use google to find threads and comments on here, works much better.

Could do with an update.

Sometimes it's been useful.

If you are watching this you have clicked on my profile or stolen this. I dont know why you would do that...

About me? I love Astronomy, I like to play guitar and watch anime. My future lies in Astronomy and so does the future of all of humanity. You should join my Astronomy group Space Explorers.

The search bar never works for me. I search up threads, words and things that have been often said or been spoken about the last two months or so, but I only get results from multiple months/years back.

It is useless for me. I would greatly appreciate an update for it.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I remember when everyone would tell you to use the search bar. Doesn't happen anymore...

I've used it on occasions and only have found what I've been looking for half the time.

HALO 2 FOREVER - M.I.A.

Yes i have a Twitter and yes i voice my opinion.

The last time i have seen the bungie search working was back in 2008 and that was to find a thread that was 2 years old.

Xbox Ambassador: Feel free to ask any questions you might have about a Xbox issue in a PM to me. I may be able to help!

Whenever I look for a specific thread, I usually will just type in "(Name of thread) bungie.net" in Google, and I can find that thread easy.

The only time I ever use the searchbar is just for looking up gamertags and stats.

In terms of looking for specific forum posts, it is pretty useless.

I've honestly typed in the exact name of a thread I was looking for into the search bar before and had to venture back to the 5th page to find a link to a post within said thread (not even the OP).

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

It works from time to time, but most of the time it doesn't.

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

Technically it works, but it's not specific enough.

  • 02.12.2012 8:48 AM PDT

There are three people I serve. God, Chuck norris, and Evilcam.

Yes it works.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

It is pretty awful. It is a nightmare sometimes.

8/5/08 Bungie Favorites- NoEnd
7/1/09 Bungie Favorites- RECON Devil
9/9/09 Bungie Favorites- Champion
5/22/10 HaloCharts Favs- Prey

Yeah it's not the best search bar. If you're looking for something specific you'll have issues, but generally it isn't efficient.
