This is just dumb.

I'm not even going to provide a counter argument, because it isn't necessary.

It depends what the question is about.

As a Veteran member OBVIOUSLY I'll know more about the site than someone who has been here for a year.

Not necessarily. What about alts?
He meant someone who has literally been here for a year, not someone who has been here for 5 years but is on an account that has been here for a year.

Then that has nothing to do with displaying "Join Date", unless join date displayed how long that person has been here including alts. Which it doesn't.

There are three people I serve. God, Chuck norris, and Evilcam.

I agree OP. I hate that thing being stuck up there.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

I think they should stay. The only people who get upset over them are the few who take them mega serious. ANd they are few in number. I like to celebrate my join date and would be a sad panda to see it go.

The join date in my opinion is a handy bit of information which is quite useful for writing background information on users and to use them to set titles in groups like in Bnet Regulars and Mythic Members.

I have never seen someone being elitist with their join date. So no, I really don't approve of this 'idea' at all.

If you think that you have an a complaint or suggestion with 'elitism' on b.net then (IMHO) you should back it up with more than one case before you start creating (IMHO) silly ideas.

No. It really should not matter when someone joins or not.

Join date is nice for users who genuinely want to show how long they've been on for, but it also causes a lot of unneeded issues.

Name 1 real issue.

Just because you forgot a password everyone else should have their history erased so you don't feel left out?

No.

It's not only him. At least 100 members have suffered from lost passwords, account hijacking or the auto deletion system. Why should they have to suffer. I'm sure if it was you, you would ask the same thing. Either that or you would want your old accounts join date put on your new one (Which Achronos won't do regardless of all the proof you have that the old account is yours).

Thousands > 100

Sorry, it's just not that big of deal to change just for that.
Would I be pissed if my account got jacked?
Hell yeah. I hate that kind of nonsense. Theft is theft and those who do it should be tortured mercilessly.

I do not know Bungie's stance on redeeming stolen accounts.

I have been here for enough time for not taking any of the "elitism" you speak of seriously. We just like to pick on each other.

Yeah! No user names, no avatars, no lines distinguishing different posts, no spaces, no punctuation, just walls and walls of text with no way of finding out who authored it!

It is nice to see how long people have been around. I never see any elitism involved with it, unless people are joking.

I've seen so many posts where people say "Look at how long he's been around for", and use that as a basis for there argument.
If the account was created today or yesterday, and the person is posting some questionable stuff, it's safe to assume they're probably a troll.

I've never seen elitism or controversy about join dates, so I don't know where you're getting this idea from. Overall I don't see the point of getting rid of join dates.

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

I personally think that your join date should be displayed next to your username where the member titles are.

I feel like it only adds to controversy and elitism.
I see no controversy, and I'm surprised you think the second point is adequate at all for this.
This and: It's been mentioned on numerous occasions by both moderators and Bungie employees that account age is the most reliable factor in predicting activity.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

I've never seen anyone care about join dates, other than when somebody posts in a controversial manner, making them look like they're trolling.

I know a lot of you want Bungie to keep it around (to show how long you've been here), but I feel like it only adds to controversy and elitism.
