Just on another walkabout

Yes, uncontrollable indeed

  • 02.12.2012 12:40 PM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

I don't care for the flood that much anymore. Very few topics interest me. The rest are either girl threads or a bunch of kids whiny about some nonsense.

I've been noticing this as well, as of late the mods haven't seemed to be on as much and they have been taking advantage of it. There are several religious threads going on right now that need to be taken care of, last night there was a inappropriate pic thread that didn't get taken care of for a while, several parody threads on top of each other the other day and all of these didn't get taken care of for a long time. Just my opinion, but i think things have gotten to lenient around there and the rules need to be enforced more.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Improve The Flood by example, don't reply to rule-breaking threads even if your post is on topic or declaring how the thread is rule-breaking.

I'd say that at least 10% of The Flood is rational. I say we erect more mods!

  • 02.12.2012 1:00 PM PDT

Remember Elk

They don't have any control when the mods are online either, but when the mods are online there is some cleanup.

More in GMT. Most of the time I am on there is no moderation, unless some of the mods stay up late..

I agree.

I've always wanted to attack the Flood with moderation in their prime of the night. I know a few mods did a couple of nights ago, but last night was awful, there was a thread that got well passed a hot topic with a blatant NSFW link in the OP.

The Flood is kinda like our ADD little brother we stash away in the corner and let it do what it does. Sometimes it surprises us, most of the time it upsets us, but we are forced to live with him and in a twisted, weird way we are proud of him and love him because he is ours.

GOAT

I don't think more moderators would make the flood any less of a flame fest. Its not a bad place, you just gotta know what threads are gonna be worth posting in.

  • 02.12.2012 3:39 PM PDT

lolnope.

The Flood is fine. It's what a very active, Off-Topic forum usually should be like. Stop over reacting. It's not like they have the man power to accomplish anything amazing anyways. At least anything amazingly dangerous.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

You can certainly pick the crowd apart in the Flood.

@Tony: Yes. YES.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

People generally tend to stereotype about the Flood; generalising the entire user-base, based on a certain event (like the one last night), when it usually involves a select few. If your are going to judge; judge them, not the Flood.

I think we should start giving tutorials to everyone on how to click the report button, and not to post in the thread they reported.

It's always like that later in the day. The trolls just lurk until it gets night time then they hit the forums.

What terrible advice. How is that going to solve ANYTHING?

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

The Flood has always been like that.

It's not "lack of self control"... we just take advantage of the phrase "Off-Topic"...

Although I will admit, some threads make me question humanity's sanity.
