Hello all i was wondering if you guys would like to see fall damage in halo 3, just to add a little bit of realism
No.
Posted by: mastersnake17No. I agree
this is already a topic

I say no, but I think that perhaps your SHIELD should drop.. in Halo 1 you would die. Forget dying, just drop the shield a bit depending on the length of the drop..(1/4, 1/2, 3/4, no shield)
I dont think that would make sense for your armor to downgrade, since in halo 2 there is no fall damage halo 3 should be the same[Edited on 5/19/2006]
Yeah but that was only becuase they could not replicate the physics of Halo 1 and I don't know about you but being able to drop 1000ft and survive (even with armor) without a scratch seems to me to be a bit stupid.
But then again this isnt real life its Halo
I think is was quite nice wothout fall damage because there's more fun and crazy stuff you could do. It may not be realistic, but it's fun, and that's what we play games for; just like having indestructable vehicles in Halo 1 meant you could do some cool stuff with them.Someone mentioned your shieldgoing down, but not actually dying when you fall. That may be a good idea.

"This is war. Survival is your own responsibility."
maybe. But not as extreame as halo 1.

The gun was an Egg so that doesnt count. But if you fell from a Scarab in Halo 2 you did die.
In single player I imagine a certain degree of fall damage would add to realism (nothing like the ridonculous Halo CE fall damage though!), but I hope they follow Halo 2 in toasting the damage for MP... it allows you to use 3 dimensions of tactics (falling can be a strategy), instead of (in Halo CE) *Ha ha! I dropped behind you, I have the jump on you!* -- *enemy turns around and kills person with no shields and low health*
just a little fall damage. oh and the person who said you could fall a thousand feet without a scratch well thats not true in some respects. because in the books the spartans have to do a hot drop out of a burning pelican, some survived others died, some were criticly injured others had barely a scratch. it all depends on where you land
No, only because in multiplayer most of the maneuvers I did meant from dropping from certain places for a surprise attack. Putting fall damage would totally change everything and how I play.

it would just be stupid
Posted by: spaligator69it would just be stupid You'd be surprised on how much more careful and strategic you are. I' m assuming many of you didnt play halo 1 ?As it was a great element in multiplayer.Instead of just running in a room w/ 2 guns spraying all over the place you had to think and plan what you were gonna do, because there was consequences as to what you did....
Fall damage: noStunned after a high drop: yes.
Eh I don't really care much... whatever they do it will be fun whether they have it enabled or not it's bungie's decision... I trust them
Yes. It makes the game more realistic. Well, realistic for sci fi anyway. I thought it was really stupid how jumping from a 100 yard tall ledge wouldn't even phase you. It also plays a big role in Multiplayer as jumping down on your enemies from a high hight wouldn't hurt you at all. Or was it all "Balance issues?"

Yes to fall damage for one reason:It requires more strategy. period.
