Subject: Will "Destiny" have a sequel?

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

The press release indicated that for the next 10 years Bungie would be working with Activision on a series of games. I assumed it would be three games, and that it would be a trilogy.
This. Seeing as how Bungie's game development cycle is usually 3 years. 10 year deal, 1 game every 3 years. That's 3 games in 9 years. The extra year could be extra development time, or a small side project like ODST.

I see DLC and expansions being the norm with Destiny. WoW was released in 2005. That was 7 years ago and it's still being added to and enjoyed by millions upon millions.

Yes, DLC expansions are an industry standard nowadays, especially with the AAA titles. But DLC is usually map packs or a little tiny extra story, like the Fallout DLC. I see those being the norm with Destiny, but ONE GAME carried on for 10 years simple by DLC expansions. I don't see that happening... (Which is what some people see happening, but I don't see it) I see a trilogy with DLC to support each title. Not a single standalone game carried on for 10 years by DLC expansions.

I will be sad if it doesn't.

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

I'm sure that if Destiny is good enough it'll have a sequel. Or at least deserve one, considering nowadays you don't really need to be good to have a sequel.

What if Destiny is a MMO then it will not have any sequels, unless we are talking about expansions or DLC.

Silly, flight-simulator MMORPGs don't need sequels!

Perhaps Bungie already have plans for a sequel - they have been working on this IP for quite a long time.

Is the 10 year deal with Activision for just one IP?

but BUNGiE likes Activision

Most likely, yes. Bungie has a whole series planned, but if the first ones a fail, probably none will follow.
