I've been reading about the thing after E3 that various journalists were incouraged to go to (without cameras) where they showed off the real-time play of the trailer and the detail and movement. As weel as the new geometry and lighting tech. Maybe someone else has asked but Bungie "please release this example" so it can shut the people up who always say, oh its not real time blah blah. plus it will look cool.

but isn't the reason they didn't have cameras to prevent anyone from seeing it later on?

ah well. id like to see it too. it'd be sweet XD

Facts are the enemy of tru7h....

Thing is it only runs on the Xbox 360 dev kits... I'd rather the concentrate on the game than trying to make the demo work on a regular 360.

Besides, everyone would complain when it broke their machine, when it crashed or when it doesn't appear in the game exactly like it did in the demo...

No i didn't mean like that though it would be cool, really just a recording of the showcase, they must have done one, companies always record presentations for records, just a movie of it on marketplace or web or somethin

This was all they showed...
MC Montrose asks,

Hi,

I was wondering if you could elaborate on what you did for the select press members after the showing...

I hear you flew them around the environment of the trailer...

how was the framerate? how did the press react?

We flew them around the environment, flew out over the Forerunner structure, did a close-up of the Chief to show the realtime reflection of the visor (you could see the ammo counter running down in his faceplate) and showed off the unified lighting model we're using - particularly how other surfaces, such as sand, reflect light back up onto his armor. Frame rate was silky smooth, but to be fair, that was basically an empty environment with the Chief in it. However, we're obviously trying to make our finished game silky smooth too. I don't know how they reacted, but one journalist asked me if I had gotten any death threats.
