It's greek to me.
I always chuckle when people use that expression regarding math since we use the Greek alphabet all the time.

I used it because I understand the greek alphabet (I know what all of the math symbols means and letters mean and what they do) but I can't actually speak or read it (do the math) but that works too!

Thanks, Dis. Nothing more refreshing and constipating than a cold night's mathematical expository. :D

This is what I do when I get tired of doing my engineering work.

I see. Well, I myself am not a mathematician by any means, but I always love to see that others, much like yourself, are more adept at the problems than I. Amusing, suffice it to say.

What kind of engineering do you do, if I may intrude?

I'm getting degrees in electrical engineering (renewable energy / electric drives focused) and mathematics in June. I work in a semiconductor processing facility. Here's a pic of me with a thin-film of Si3N4 on a quartz backing I just pulled out of an RIE.

Ouch. There are a lot of us engineers out there, we just don't snack on the same threads as everyone elss.

If there is an equation that you think is too hard to understand/follow or solve apply this very simple rule and you will always get the correct answer:

(q->oo) (2pi)*(1 - exp(-q^2))/2 x 0 = 0

That won't work for spaces where the inner product of an element and zero yields a nonzero result. I could easily define <a, 0> = |a|, for example.
