It should say something to you that the only people who play the only ranked playlist in Halo: Reach are cheaters. Not very many people care about competitive Reach. Even when competitive Reach works really well (Ex: MLG) not many people play it.There are so many variables - just a ridiculous amount - to where I think it's just a guessing game trying to figure out exactly why something like this is the way it is. All that happens is people push a view that enforces their own values and beliefs about Halo, and no one is ever proven wrong. :/

What it needs to succeed is more... hype. It works well as is in MLG (although I think no-bleedthrough should be brought back to make it the most competitive, but that's another can of worms), but nobody cares about playing Reach competitively so nobody does. Call of Duty, for example, gets lots of hype, as does Starcraft, so competitive settings are well followed. It's not the same in Halo.I guess.
