Ok health packs most likely not, but fall damage could make some sence. After all, how could MC get older from HALO1 to 2 and take damage falling in hang em high, but not take damage falling from the top of water works?

It clearly states in the Halo 2 manual that the Mark VI armor the Chief recieved at the beginning of Halo 2 eliminates fall damage.

I am aware of that fact, but how does it do that and what possible benefit is that to Bungie if they want to eliminate exploits like superjumping and crap. Besides does it make sence that a suit of armor would prevent damage from falling. I don't know about you but If I put on a suit of armor and jumped off a bridge I would sustain lots of damage.

Can you drive a tank by yourself? I didn't think so.

What about a ghost? It's so clear than everything in the Halo world is meant to be based on reality. Why did they put that ghost in there? Or the Banshee...

Yes as a matter of fact I can DRIVE it. Can I shoot and do other stuff too NO. Besides what does a tank have to do with fall damage. I guess if I fell out of the front of the tank and it ran me over, that could be considered fall damage

The books describe the hydrogel (forgive me if that term is incorrect) that helps cushion the solider wearing the MJOLNIR armor. I'm guessing the Mark VI provides a more efficient system, effectively reducing all shock experienced by long falls.

Halo's a hell of a drug.

I don't like fall damage. Now when I play Halo:CE it always surprises me when I fall and take damage. I say keep it out.

Yes, I say leave it out. It may be more unrealistic, but what part of the Halo series is realistic to begin with? Plus, it's more fun to jump from a 3-story building and come out unscathed than getting spattered all over the ground.

If you knew how to crouch-land, you could all but eliminate fall damage. I liked it, it added an element of danger.

You wouldn't need to pick up a health pack after getting shot in the face with a shotgun in halo 2. Why pick up a health pack if you aren't hurt at all?

you just need to calm down...nothing about Halo is realistic. It's a fantasy game. But anyway I think fall damage should be left out, we've all just gotten too used to it now. I can just see running through a CTF game carrying the flag and seeing the other team jumping off ledges and cliffs trying to get to me and all dying. Funny...but not fair.

I am in favor of fall damage coming back, not because of super bouncing, but just the realism of it.

I honestly don't know if it would do anything regarding super bouncing...that's the thing with glitches. There's no telling what the game thinks the initial starting point of the player is when that situation happens; theoretically it could either start the players jump at the moment the player first leaps off something, or it could start it when the player is glitched in the map and begins to bounce back up, or it could start it at the peak of the bounce when the player starts to fall back down.

I was referring to halo 2's nerfed shotguns. And I was not sucking up to the ninja, he just said everything I was going to. If you know what's going on, you can eliminate fall damage from halo 1, and it should be included because it adds an element of realism, and an element of strategy.

1: All the superjumps ive seen can be acheived without falling a very far distance, making your 1st sentence void.

2: Bikes have shock absorbers right? that was made in like the 80's or 90's. This game is far in the 2000's. what makes you think they cannot put that in a suit of armor thousands of years from now?

Sorry if you guys already bashed him for this, but i thought this was necessary.

Cause ghosts and banshees are an alien vehicles, so therfore, it is not reality.

falling damage isnt as fun because jumping down behind my friends for a smack in the back is more fun than having to run all the way down the level just to do the same thing.
