falling damage isnt as fun because jumping down behind my friends for a smack in the back is more fun than having to run all the way down the level just to do the same thing.

Heh... good one. yeah i doubt bungie would put on fall damage again thats stupid... unless (just like in H2) if you fall out of the map completely.

If you superjump with fall damage how will you get down alive or what if you make a bad jump and miss the top? Bring back fall damage.

Bring it back. You can minimize it with a bit of care.

dude, have you ever done a super jump? You dont fall enough to get hurt by the fall, let alone die from it. Not speaking about all of them, but damn near all of them you wouldn't get hurt from. Sanctuary Jump you might...

I am aware of that fact, but how does it do that and what possible benefit is that to Bungie if they want to eliminate exploits like superjumping and crap. Besides does it make sence that a suit of armor would prevent damage from falling. I don't know about you but If I put on a suit of armor and jumped off a bridge I would sustain lots of damage.

I do believe that the armor is not just armor. If they were able to make a break through with the right technology for the suits, they could stop fall damage for what we experience game wise. The gel within the suit works as a cushion that could help and the shields could help with that. Of course you would sustain a lot of damage if you put on a suit of armor and jumped off a bridge, you are not geneticly enhanced and you do not have very advanced armor.

it wouldnt be hard to kill someone who super jumps without adding kill damage. they could program a likk wall into the level at a certain height or simply putt i kill wall into the floor so when youpartially sink in to suoperjump you die.
pm me because ill probly never be able to find this forum again

WTF are you talking about KciD? What's happens when you soar hundreds of feet into the air and miss the top of a ledge or when you have to come down to get more ammo? It will make it less worthwhile.

Fall damage - I miss it. Wish they'd bring it back, but doubt the 'technology' can be reversed.

Health Packs - Don't miss them or the health bar.

1: All the superjumps ive seen can be acheived without falling a very far distance, making your 1st sentence void.

2: Bikes have shock absorbers right? that was made in like the 80's or 90's. This game is far in the 2000's. what makes you think they cannot put that in a suit of armor thousands of years from now?

Sorry if you guys already bashed him for this, but i thought this was necessary.

speaking of void points, since when is "thousands of years" still in the 2000's? Are you a math guru or something? and shocks are not a new technology they have been around for 20,000,000 years. (that last value was calculated using your distorted math algorithim)

why is everyone trying to explain "why the MC has and doesn't have fall damage in Halo 1 and 2..."? It's a game... a Sci-Fi game... a game not meant to be real... no explanations are needed...

all that matters is whether or not you'd like fall damage back or not... nothing more, nothing less, although opinions why are appreciated.

IMO, I would like fall damage back. It did add strategy in the first Halo, and it "would" prevent some superbouncing (there are still places where it would be impossible to survive a jump, or to not take damage at least) and some major glitches as well.

IMO, I also like the idea of the return of the health pack. I don't know why, but I just like the feel of having health with my shields. I don't know, it's just my opinion.

Everything should be flat, eliminate the need to worry about fall damage. If it is flat, then you won't have far to fall. You will only fall as high as you jump.

....Meant as a joke....

Read about my gaming here.

No fall damage: If you are in the middle of a battle, you accidentaly fall and die, while with no fall damage you would have survived the fall or gotten in cover. With fall damage alot of people would start to comlain about it just becasue of those 2 reasons

No health packs: it makes it equal for everyone, after a battle you don't have to worry about your hp and medpaks, you don't have to curse over the mic when there are no medpaks around.

Fall damage made for tactical elements in the gameplay that I sorely miss. And, it would eliminate super-bouncing if the fall damage was based on where the character model began to fall, as opposed to the beginning of the jump.

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

I'm not a big fan of health packs. I think they take away from the action too much, especially in the campaign levels. There you are, looking for random medical kits that instantly heal your wounds, when you're supposed to be saving the world. Good riddance health packs.

I say leave it out becuse in halo ce when you play on those levels with bridges and stuff and your shooting and take some damage then accidentally fall off and fall for like 10 feet then you die, its -blam!-.
