Read my post above (on page 2). It debugs so called "evidence" that forerunners are humans showing that guiltys choice fo gramamr tells us it's a fact were not forerunners. Also I give a quote from a bungie employee from an interview to show we are in fact NOT the forerunners so spread the word to stop people from waisting there time.

Please dude, Bungie staff has stated that Marathon and Halo are not related to one another. Even though they have the same developer, same kind of basic structure, basic look, basic UNSC, they're not intertwined. Please don't take information from Marathon and weave it in with speculations from Halo and Halo 2.

Why are you all talking about this its already kinda obvious that humans and forerunners have a connection since in the trailer there is a forerunner object on the earth.

yeah, it was kinda always obvious.. plus, when i played "the library" on halo 1 the other day, while 343 was talking about the forerunners, he said something allong the lines of:

"im glad to see that some of them survived to reproduce"

forerunners + reproduction = humans...duh

I think that humans are in some way the Forerunners. As for that speed of light stuff they were argueing about time would keep going and if ur moving at the speed of light then really it wont affect time at all all they are doing in slipspace is just going really really fast. For example this is on a smaller scale than the speed of light if ur driving a car really fast it wont affect time at all u just arrive at ur destination faster end of discussion by the way its the year 2552 and the war has been raging sice 2525 give or take a few years. In the book there is a lot of data that gives us that idea. 343 always refers to humans as "reclaimers" mc, marines any one and at the very end of halo one 343 says something like "i am so glad to catch up on all of our lost history and technology, and i am suprised you would destroy this ring and this wreckage" this is at the beginning of 'The Maw" on halo one. so if thats not proof i dont know what is. If anyone can prove that humans are the forerunners then i want to hear it.

ive always thoought the forunners are/were humans and this is just more proof. Oh! and in a cut scene on the maw 343 says something about having a record of all "our" lost times, while he is accessing a human cobtrol panel thing. he said our so im guessing he meant ol mc and himself...

The forerunners are supposed to be dead but yes 343 has 100s of quotes pointing to humans being forerunner and vice-verca but I think u all have to remember the trailer! THE ARK IS ON EARTH!!! WHUT ELSE DO U NEED TO PROVE THAT HUMANS AND FORERUNNERS HAVE SOME SORT OF RELATIONSHIP!!! Y would the ark be on earth if the humans/forerunners didn't build it there. If it were a seperte race then they had to trust the humans enough to activate the ark if needed unless they lived there. THE HUMANS AND FORERUNNERS HAVE A RELATIONSHIP!!! I only use caps so if people r too lazy to read it all they can see the main points. Plz keep discussing it will only make things better.

~THIS MAY LOOK LONG BUT IF YOU READ YOU MAY ACTUALLY LEARN SOMETHING~

Guys, if you know about fast traveling, near the speed of light, than you would know that time crawls when going that fast. For example, say i drove a ship 186,000 miles per hour(speed of light) to the nearest halo, on earth many years would have past. But in the ship at most it would've taken a week. I would have aged a week and everything. Soooooo, think about it, do you know everything that happened exactly 250 years ago. No. Neither would the humans in the year 2555 (whatever year it is). The book says they have had space travel for centuries. So i'm sure some type of human life went to a few galaxies, made contact with the flood, built the halo's, and are on their way back.(They could have been humans from the year 2554 as well.) Remember, it only feels like a few weeks for say 5 years. So they've probably been in space for a few years in their time. On earth centuries have past. Einstein proved this theory, the one about time dragging.
And the part about 343 mistaking MC as a forerunner, well, I'm sure when he said the suits were better he meant that they had the newest technology of suits. 343 only saw MC in his halo suit, not his halo 2 suit, so it could have easily been a ship with some spartans on it. Basically, unless Bungie makes a big twist, HUMANS ARE FORERUNNERS. Period. End of Story.
Any one who says they aren't, prove it.

P.S. worm holes make time drag too.

Makes sense. But In the books all the times are relevant, traveling at superluminous speed or not.

and to Dr Mayhem 7... you cant be called a reclaimer if you already havent claimed once...
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=reclaimer

1 entry found for reclaimer.
re·claim ( P ) Pronunciation Key (r-klm)
tr.v. re·claimed, re·claim·ing, re·claims
* To bring into or return to a suitable condition for use, as cultivation or habitation: reclaim marshlands; reclaim strip-mined land.
* To procure (usable substances) from refuse or waste products.
* To bring back, as from error, to a right or proper course; reform. See Synonyms at save1.
* To tame (a falcon, for example).

I don't see, "already have to claim it once."

Can some one answer one thing for me?

"Last time when you asked, me would I do it...etc," said by Guilty Spark.
What the hell does this mean?

Even in the book The Flood, where the chief has minor dialogue, there is never a part where the MC ever asks Guilty Spark anything about activating the ring. I used to think there was a gap in time when they teleport around Halo, so they could talk, something like in Star Trek, but the book stated different. My brain now hurts!!

1. The ark is on earth, and the covenant have to be stopped from activating it.
2. The flood have a better chance of being the forerunners then the humans. If anything humans were slaves, used to activate stuff.

the marine[ actually it was a space crew] said : Without a destination solution,...

He was worried that the ship would emerge in some dam#ed heavily armed Covenant territories.

The humans might be or might not be forunners. But they're definetly connected, 'else the Forunners once wore Olive-coloured armor. As for Prophet blood, yes, i've noticed its red too, so humans and prophets are connected as well.

The Fore-runners wore combat suits like the master chiefs Guitly Spark tells the Master Chief this.

343 GUILTY SPARK:

These Sentinels will supplement your combat system. But, I suggest you upgrade to at least a Class Twelve combat skin. Your current model only scans as a Class Two, which is ill suited for this kind of work.

I find this interesting

whoever said the books are false your wrong. Bungie said that they were official canon so that means they are not false. Yes i think we are some how connected to the Forerunners but not them. The Elites actually don't mind us as they say "when there is no hope of winning they throw themeselves selflessly with honour at our lines...i only wish the Unngoy would do that." its only the Prophets that don't like us. With the Prophets having red blood, they could just a have an iron based blood which is one of the reasons why our blood it red.

Blood is red thanks to hemaglobin reacting with oxygen not because of iron. Human blood otherwise is maroon/purple. (see those blue veins)

Idk why people make such a big deal about love. Just -blam!- everything you see, until you find the one you want to -blam!- for the rest of your life.

(i hope no-one else said this because it is late at night for me and i really cant be bothered reading past the first page)
the humans and forerunners may be linked because in the books 343 said that the suit the MC was wearing was only a level 2 suit. wouldnt this mean it is exactly level 2?343 said he should be wearing level 12 armor. maybe thats as far as the forerunners got. maybe earth was a fall back point from which , if they had to, they could activate all the halos

i've always thought the explanation that the human race are the forerunners to be a little simplistic. i don't think bungie would've made it that transparent. reading the transcriptions of 343's conversation with the chief i'm even more convinced that HUMANS are not the forerunners. here's why. . .

a few of you mentioned that 343 mistook chief for a forerunner, a conclusion that came from the part that goes " Last time, you asked me, if it was my choice, would I do it? Having considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed."

but how about the part where he says "But, once the others follow suit, this galaxy will be quite devoid of life, or at least any life with sufficient biomass to sustain the flood. (pause) But you already knew that. I mean, how couldn't you? "

and then "Why would you hesitate to do what you have already done?"

and at the end of CE, after getting into the Autumn's computer, he's ranting about "a record of all our lost time" or something like that.

343 GS has never been a character that speaks in metaphor or generalizations. he's always talked about facts and specifics. and someone else in this thread mentioned that you can't reclaim something unless you've claimed it before. therefore, i'm thinking that forerunners are not the human race in general, but specifically chief and keyes; the reclaimers.

thoughts?

Your thread seems to argue the case that they are human rather than not.

A lot of things point to humans being the decendants of fore-runners but as you say... It's all a bit to transparent. There's room for the fore-runners not to be human. I don't think bungie want's to launch a game where everyone seems to know the ending anyway.

The covenant call the fore-runners "our fore-fathers" So maybe they evolved from them.

It's been suggested by some posts that that maybe humans and covenant gentic roots may be the same.

I think it would be cool that if the Master Chief gets in the Ark he finds cryo stored lifeforms like humans or apes that we evolved from and the equivelent of elites, (the brutes are kind of ape like really) I only think like this because the in the Noah's 'Ark' story he gathered 2 of every animal to save them from 'The Flood'

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGH!
could everyone please just pointing out the -BLAM!-ING OBVIOUS!!
yes it seems likely due to all the evidence that forerunners are human and/or vice versa but, as it's bungie, they probably won't be!

I know its obvious that's why i cant accept it. Everyone thinks that fore-runners are humans. I dont want that to happen now just because thats what everyone thinks. Hopefully this is what bungie wants us to think and they have a surprise for us all.

I mean whats the point in waiting for halo 3 if everyone knows whats going to happen.

I think budget has something else in mind
