I love you

I have an idea that I think is spot on (people may already have posted it) to whether the armor in Halo 4 is Mk.VI or Mk.VII. Look at the picture. You can still see the battle damage on his right side of the chest. Different artists have different ways of drawing things. It's very possible that it is still Mk. VI and it is also very possible that it is a newer Mk. VII armor. But from the picture, I'm going to go with its just a different artists interpretation of Mk. VI and I don't think we'll see Mk. VII armor in a Halo game.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Read Glasslands, they kind of have an explanation for why the armour has changed, a rather ridiculous one, but an explanation never the less.

Living in the past is a luxury none
of us can afford. We must learn from
it, but we cannot live there. It is
impossible to plan for the now
the present is ever fleeting. The
future is where we must live the
future is what we must plan for.

It fits the described mark 7 armor in the sense that it has a lot less plating. It would explain the weight difference between mark 6 and 7, which is a big difference according to Glasslands. I'd say 7.

Stay on topic, this thread will probably get locked like every other thread on the forums this morning. Take that you wrong forum posters

I know it changed, but just because of the new artists working on the game. He still has the damage on his chest like his Mk.VI had.

But only Mk VII has the crazy nanite upgrade business, John went in with Mk VI to be sure, and could not have upgraded in any possible way....

That said, Naomi 010 exists which means canon and be changed pretty much to 343i's whim OR whatever writer's they higher :/

This is a good point. If John now has Mk VII by some crazy means, or his Mk VI has the same tech for some magic reason, the scars would be repaired.

I've never read glasslands, can anyone explain how the armor changed and what glasslands has to do with Halo 4?

Well Glasslands has actually little to nothing to do with Halo 4 because it only tells us about what kind of forerunner things we might experience... kind of.

In Glasslands, a spartan that is created from thin air, Naomi 010, has been given Mk VII armor by ONI cause, you know, they need her for a secret mission with a supposed "wash out" of the program Serin 019. But I suggest reading halo wiki's or reading the book for all that juicy goodness. Anyway, Mk VII mjolnir has nanobots all over it that constantly upgrade it and repair damages to it.
