Depends on the "style" of boss. The Scarab battle, although it was a boss of sorts, didn't feel like a boss. The Tartarus, Regret, and Heretic battles (ESPECIALLY the latter), though, should never, EVER see the light of day in Halo again. Ever.

Yeah, I agree. This is an FPS not an RPG. Though really, the Tartarus battle was satisfying to me. I'd wanted to kick his arse for such a long time.

NO BOSSES!!!!! THEY'RE HOMO-blam!-!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked some of the boss battles...I think Regret was the more fun out of them all. I want to at least fight Gravemind. Or have something like the introduction of the Flood occur where you don't know what the duece is going on.

You all complain now, but how was bungie suppsoed to know that at the time? They were experimenting still. Better to get all the kinks and complaints out where they matter the least.

Yeah, this is a war, bosses are stupid, the lack of boss battles really set halo 1 apart from many other shooters, it's something I NEVER saw coming in h2. But of course, Bungie will still probably make us fight more bosses in h3, stupid enemies with WAY too much health to even be feasible.

In halo 1 there were no bosses because there were no powerful enemies like Regret or Tartarus. If you happen to run across a powerful enemy, and you have to take him down 1 on 1, then if that's a "boss" battle then so be it. There are just times when you gotta knock someone out.

Agreed, Halo 2's boss fights were just plain bad. Boss fights don't belong in the Halo universe.

My favorite boss fight in H2 was probably against Regret, not because it was fun or rewarding, I just found it to be kind of funny.

No Boss Fights in H3 please.

Do you feel what I feel, see what I see, hear what I hear?
There is a line you must draw between your dream world and reality

I dont know how you guys think that the Heretic Leader was a boss. It was simply like fighting 3 Elite Rangers, just with different color armor. Sure the fact hes a boss is implied, but i dont think hes a true boss.

Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!
Is it?

I don't know it was kinda satisfying killing the bosses, and it gave you something to work on, Yes the scarab was my favorite boss fight due to the fact I always wanted to kill it off before it reached the bridge at the end.

But the epic battles were awsome, I'd adore having a large scale insertion mission like taking the beach head in the silent cartogrifer, yet bigger and longer with more allies, mabey even another Spartin, now that would be awsome.

Dream level, underground insertion via sewage systems where you and your team go through some sewers with tight corners low ceilings etc killing in low light and smoke, lots of jackles and drones (and grunts) before going out into the open where you kill a huge number of enemies before entering a structure and then entering something big (like a scarab) and kicking it's butt.
Hurah!

Boss fights are... some what.. aimless in the end you win or.. trap the enemy in the corner and continually beat them and they fail to die then its will get boring. Its also the trademark of a new level or end of game.
