If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.
Nanosuit. Overall.
MJOLNIR does have it's advantages but the Nanosuit is effectively better all round.
I would argue a Spartan in Nanosuit would be more effective on the field than a Spartan in MJOLNIR. The closest thing to active camo the UNSC has for a Spartan would be it's SPI armour.
Not getting hit at all can sometimes be more useful than surviving a hit.
Stealth over brute force. Not quite always, but the nanosuit is not limited to just only stealth where the MJOLNER has no stealth capabilities at all beyond that of what the user makes of it.
We're also forgetting medical treatment. The instant biofoam does not compare with repair procedure. This makes the MJOLNIR sound weak in comparision and I really do adore the Mark 5 and 6. The energy source for the MJOLNIR is something truly worth noting however.
I'm all for Halo's MJOLNIR and design. But truthfully, if in a real life situation I had to pick one of the suits, it would be the Nanosuit 2.0. Not only that, the MJOLNIR would kill me. I would need certain augmentation beforehand and funding that can cripple the UNSC.
But than again let's say I'm a supersoldier, a Spartan. I would still pick the Nanosuit. Sure the sheilds would be tougher and hey I get armour lock[god mode!] My options would still be limited, but I get a A.I like cortana, she's almost as important as the suit itself. But I could'nt justify picking a suit that has .
Situations such as
-GoO with gravity manipulation to freeze MJOLNIR armour [Blue teams 1st mission with Kurt]
-T-Pac thrusters going out of control [Kurt's excused MIA]
-FUBAR equipment that cannot be reused once fried[Pelican crash that killed spartans in fall damage]
-Lack of adaptive abilities, I get the stock UI unless I fall into armour lock mode [Transition from Halo 2 to 3 UI] the armour is not flexible to meet my enviromental conditions.
-My armour can be breached with no hope of fixing it in a combat situation [An issue with Sam in FoR due to lack of sheilding that can still be present in the later MJOLNIR revisions once the sheild is down]
-Even the helmet [As seen in Reach] if breached would need throwing away and thus leave my head exposed.
These situations don't cut it. I can't equally name situation in crysis in which the suit works against me.
If fact if I get hit unconcious the suit works for me. I effectively am the suit.Nanocrystals that re-adjust,reform is flexibilty that is uncontested. The potential of the nanosuit technology is far beyond that of the MJOLNIR.
Now it may sounds like I'm selling the Nanosuit as the ultimate suit. It does lack any real sheilding and energy power, however the nanosuit energy is renewable. Sheilding is a major concern in defence and for that MJOLNIR would be on top, along with the potential of A.I housing, a feature the nanosuit vaguely has, the quality of the A.I is in question. Energy on the otherhand is the one of the few drawback I would consider neccessary but that renewable energy from the nanosuit in itself is a plus, self sufficiency without dependency on a fusion based nuclear material. Once your shields are down, there would be disastrous consequences if a leak or worse were to occur.EMP protection is evident on the MJOLNIR armour with Nanosuit having no protection towards it IIRC. This is a major weakness in the Nanosuit.
However for much of reasons above, weighing in the positives and negatives. I would pick the Nanosuit. I would be a silly Halo fanboy if I said otherwise.
I've been reading this thread and drew the concerns from those saying the MJOLNIR would be better. Most of the reasons are because of the USER. I.E SPARTANS. not the actual suit capabilties. Even when corrected on specifics on nanosuit details, it doesn't justify much comparison with the MJOLNIR.
