No, you're still wrong. Cortana was just translating the Forerunner artifact, she is not forerunner. And in Canon three shots are enough to deplete shields. Besides, why waste bullets when you can throw a human like a softball with the Nanosuit?

I didn't think she was translating it... but then again I didn't pay attention to what Halsey was saying. You could easily do the same thing in the MJOLNIR, if not easier.

[...] grabbing one of them by the throat and watching her sail through space until a convenient support pylon takes her from sixty to zero in no seconds.

I know, I enjoyed reading Legion, was too easy and very fast, but enjoyable. That throw depleted his strength soon after.

There may not be a "I" in team, but there is a "I" in Win.

Also:

-Nanosuit amplifies the user's abilities more than tenfold
-It's original too
-It can be worn by anybody

Although the nanosuit can be worn by anyone and put on by anyone. A spartan is better prepared for anything a enemy throws at them because they trained. You could put 100 civilians in nanosuits but one spartan could tear them apart because he knows what he is doing and the civilians dont. It is all about the type of battle. According to the guy with the long post describing them i would say they are pretty much the same suit just differently built on crysis to avoid copyright. I have never played crisis but thought it looked pretty cool. Alhough the nanosuit looks cooler, I would sy MJOLNIR would win because your spartan inside has been augmented and scientifically advanced and if the battleground changes he still knows what he is doing because they trained for years.

  • 02.19.2012 10:13 AM PDT

I think that in terms of attack the nanosuit has a slight advantage mainly because it has pre loaded powers where the mjolnir armor powers are in pick up module form but both suits are still weak to emp

  • 02.19.2012 10:51 AM PDT

I also think that mjolnir would win purely thanks to the spartans skills

Okay, and given that it would take an infinite amount of energy to decelerate something in no seconds [instantly] I'll take both of those as exaggerations.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

Nanosuit. Overall.

MJOLNIR does have it's advantages but the Nanosuit is effectively better all round.

I would argue a Spartan in Nanosuit would be more effective on the field than a Spartan in MJOLNIR. The closest thing to active camo the UNSC has for a Spartan would be it's SPI armour.

Not getting hit at all can sometimes be more useful than surviving a hit.

Stealth over brute force. Not quite always, but the nanosuit is not limited to just only stealth where the MJOLNER has no stealth capabilities at all beyond that of what the user makes of it.

We're also forgetting medical treatment. The instant biofoam does not compare with repair procedure. This makes the MJOLNIR sound weak in comparision and I really do adore the Mark 5 and 6. The energy source for the MJOLNIR is something truly worth noting however.

I'm all for Halo's MJOLNIR and design. But truthfully, if in a real life situation I had to pick one of the suits, it would be the Nanosuit 2.0. Not only that, the MJOLNIR would kill me. I would need certain augmentation beforehand and funding that can cripple the UNSC.

But than again let's say I'm a supersoldier, a Spartan. I would still pick the Nanosuit. Sure the sheilds would be tougher and hey I get armour lock[god mode!] My options would still be limited, but I get a A.I like cortana, she's almost as important as the suit itself. But I could'nt justify picking a suit that has .

Situations such as
-GoO with gravity manipulation to freeze MJOLNIR armour [Blue teams 1st mission with Kurt]
-T-Pac thrusters going out of control [Kurt's excused MIA]
-FUBAR equipment that cannot be reused once fried[Pelican crash that killed spartans in fall damage]
-Lack of adaptive abilities, I get the stock UI unless I fall into armour lock mode [Transition from Halo 2 to 3 UI] the armour is not flexible to meet my enviromental conditions.
-My armour can be breached with no hope of fixing it in a combat situation [An issue with Sam in FoR due to lack of sheilding that can still be present in the later MJOLNIR revisions once the sheild is down]
-Even the helmet [As seen in Reach] if breached would need throwing away and thus leave my head exposed.

These situations don't cut it. I can't equally name situation in crysis in which the suit works against me.

If fact if I get hit unconcious the suit works for me. I effectively am the suit.Nanocrystals that re-adjust,reform is flexibilty that is uncontested. The potential of the nanosuit technology is far beyond that of the MJOLNIR.

Now it may sounds like I'm selling the Nanosuit as the ultimate suit. It does lack any real sheilding and energy power, however the nanosuit energy is renewable. Sheilding is a major concern in defence and for that MJOLNIR would be on top, along with the potential of A.I housing, a feature the nanosuit vaguely has, the quality of the A.I is in question. Energy on the otherhand is the one of the few drawback I would consider neccessary but that renewable energy from the nanosuit in itself is a plus, self sufficiency without dependency on a fusion based nuclear material. Once your shields are down, there would be disastrous consequences if a leak or worse were to occur.EMP protection is evident on the MJOLNIR armour with Nanosuit having no protection towards it IIRC. This is a major weakness in the Nanosuit.

However for much of reasons above, weighing in the positives and negatives. I would pick the Nanosuit. I would be a silly Halo fanboy if I said otherwise.

I've been reading this thread and drew the concerns from those saying the MJOLNIR would be better. Most of the reasons are because of the USER. I.E SPARTANS. not the actual suit capabilties. Even when corrected on specifics on nanosuit details, it doesn't justify much comparison with the MJOLNIR.

MJOLNIR is the winner.

Although the Nanosuit is amazing with it's amplication of force, speed ect it pales in comparison to MJONLNIR/

MJOLNIR has multiple layers each with specific functions. The first layer is for cooling (or heating ) applying Biofoam. The next layer is the a.i material that contains the suits A.I and directly links to the brain which increases reaction times to near unmeasurable levels. It has Hardened Titanium plating covered with Energy shields. It allows the user to run at upto 60 Kph Although only for a short time ( which lead to Kelly tearing her ankle. ) It has survived High altitude insertion, is confirmed to Work EVA and can Survive a blast from a hunters plasma cannon ( Although a direct impact requires emergency venting of coolant). The only downside is that it requires bioagumentation to be able to wear.

having played both games a lot... I have to say Mjolnir. Simply just because of how either game feels. In Crysis (only counting MKI nanosuit because C2's nanosuit was a god damn farce, even for sci fi) you have pretty low health even with max armor. In Halo, you're damn near invincible even on the highest difficulty where the thing that gets you most times is the enemy's numbers.

I haven't played Crysis 1 or 2 and haven't read the second's novel adaptation but the Crysis 2 Guass rifle IIRC puts out 8 megajoules of power per shot.

That's near the level of firepower Modern tanks do per shot.

The Gauss Cannon found on Warthogs in Halo is a scaled down version of the MAC Cannons found on many UNSC ships. The 25x130mm projectile is magnetically accelerated to reach speeds of almost Mach 40 (30,600 MPH.) Thus, the round is smaller than that of the Abrams MBT, but much faster and most likely more powerful.

To answer the OP, I would like to say MJOLNIR, however, I do not know anything about the Nanosuit in Crysis, or Crysis itself for that matter.

"Halo! Its divine wind will rush through the stars, propelling all who are worthy along the path to salvation."

I've played both Crysis and Crysis 2. The N2 is no better than MJOLNIR, but from what I know, MJOLNIR amplifies an already powerful individual (Spartan) strength, speed and reflexes tenfold. The Nano-Suit can do but it does it to a normal human, not a enhanced human. SPARTANs win with MJOLNIR, especially if its MJOLNIR Mk. VI.

  • 02.24.2012 5:46 PM PDT

stop... o mi gosh so powerful... not mjolnir armor can punch a guy without shields and kill him one hit... the guy modded it you realize that... it's in the description... stop...

Seeing how a single Grunt can kill you in Legendary difficulty if you're not careful...

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a... no wait, it is a bird.

I've been a Halo fan since the very beginning, and I've also loved the Crysis series since it came out.

I like the Crysis Nanosuit because of the different things it can do, be it increasing your damage resistance or supplying camouflage.

Even though I like those things, I still have to give it to the MJOLNIR power armor.

Naturally the nanosuit will win. The Crysis universe is ridiculously more advanced when it comes to armor technology compared to the Halo universe, especially considering Halo has a five hundred year advantage.

Crysis 2 takes place in 2026, I think? Holy balls, they must have some hardcore scientists. Regardless, I do believe the nanosuit is overall more advanced and reliable.

If we're talking Universe Vs Universe though, Halo would rofl-stomp on Crysis any day, any time, any way.

They're basing their view off of the person inside of the suit, not on the actual specs of the suit.

Nanosuits by lore are just.... Crazy.

  • 02.25.2012 6:58 AM PDT

In a fight between a MJOLNIR and a nano 2, MJOLNIR will win but it will be close.

Nano may be stronger but MJOLNIR will have the advantage over time.

This is because MJOLNIR will take the punishment may take damage etc but the spartan is such an exceptional thing that they are trained/aug to push the boundaries this includes when they are injured. they will ignore the pain and fight to there last breath.
Once the nano suit has dealt his blows, he better hope he has either killed the spartan of knocked him unconscious, otehrwise the spartan will quickly recover and be back in the fight way before the nano suit has time to recharge.

that's how i would see it turning out

I see this after reading the halo books, soem of the fights the spartan wins because of the augmentations and training allow them to push the boundaries of pain and keep fighting even when a near fatal blow has occured.

MJOLNIR is way better. the ability to with stand bone shattering falls and to regenerate sheilds is pretty impresive. you can even customize ur colors!

Nanosuit can do that...And make you invisible without picking up anything.

So can the MJOLNIR system. The UNSC does have access to limited to advanced Av-cam technology

MMJOLNIR even sounds cooler, end of story, MJOLNIR wins.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

We're comparing suits.

Not Spartans vs Special forces in the 21st century.

Post above just makes me think of stupid people. "It sounds cooler therefore it's better" I mean how poor do your comparison skills have to be to even suggest that as a "end of story". Unless it's some kind of stupid trolling, it's evident that people just chat so much -blam!- without thinking at all.

We should know better, because we are better.

I would also like to point out that the Nanosuit has astounding life support capabilities. Alcatraz had his spine broken in three places, his larynx was crushed, and his femoral artery was torn for starters. The Nanosuit kept him alive and also allowed him to function with no heartbeat or breath. And I haven't noticed anything missing until right now, until the moment the tech with the V-gloves says, "No, he's literally dead," and just like that all those comforting biorhythms I thought had been keeping me company all this time, they just drained away. I reach for a pulse and find nothing. I try to catch my breath and I can't. And all I feel in that instant is this crazy gobsmacked astonishment that all those things have gone and left nothing behind and I never even noticed.
Again, a quote from Crysis Legion.

I would think that MJOLNIR armor is better, but that's just me.

Dress formal if your going to war....

even though the nanosuit is somewhat more advanced than mjolnir , id give it to mjolnir because it is equiped with a nuclear reactor which when a proper command voice code is spoken can cause nuclear detonation in which the person in the nanosuit would be turned to dust.
