Hah, if you think the moderators are strict, just imagine what would happen if #MoAP was given moderator rights for just 1 hour. Sheer pandemonium.

True, but remember they are volunteers, so it's their choice really...

I can't think of any moderator doing less than fine at their job. Sure, some are better than others, and some are strict as hell, but so what? It's not as easy as it looks, I'm sure. But the ability to edit posts probably compensates for that...

I gots to say, the following mods are quite awesome, and could make the other mods look like crap in the event that they like, posted right next to eachother or something:
* Recon Number 54
* Great_Pretender
* Shishka
And some others too, but those are the uber awesomest.

Which just underscores my point. If Jason Giambi doesn't show up for work one day do you just leave a hole in the order for fear the replacement will ground into double plays? Or do you let someone else swing the bat?

But at work you get payed and you must show up or your fired since your not a volunteer.

But the moderators are volunteers so they don't have to show up.

Ok, that was somewhat confusing, but I think I got the gist of it.

The Mods are all volunteers (including Shishka), and so it's their choice to moderate these forums. If one Mod doesn't sign in one day for whatever reason, chances are they will be another one online at some point to deal will the problems. Bungie has to be grateful to their Moderators as they're doing it for no gain, and so giving them a stern 'telling off' wouldn't go down too well.

I'm sure that the Mods try to be on as much as possible.

Not... not that I'm complaining or anything...

Member's views of the moderators are skewed by how they are treated. Whenever someone gets blacklisted by a moderator, that member immediately hates that moderator (with a few exceptions). Whenever someone makes a thread that is locked or deleted, it is "unfair," and the moderator is too strict. People hate being punished, regardless of how they act. Some are able to take it in stride and learn from their mistakes, and some people take their anger out on the forums, getting them in more trouble.

On the other side of the coin, members will like people who treat them well. In this case, as long as the members are "good little children," the mods are at the very least okay with them.

Each moderator has their good and bad points. They are human after all (with the exception of Yoozel, and to some extent Shishka and GJJ). In the end, they are here to clean up the forums, and they do just that. Quite well too.

[EDIT: Yes, when a user get's Blacklisted he inmediately hates that specific moderator. But well from my experiennce with impuri7y, I didn't hate him. I in fact was grateful with his actions, and I learned something new so indeed you musn't hate a mod because they are always honest and Bungie staff always believe on them over you, always. Anyways. I hope people learn some of this today and prevent from making such mistakes.]

And another thing: Don't insult the moderators. They deserve their sides of stories too, except for Shishka because he will eat all of your tears, and he always wins. I admire him actually.

**Puts GameJunkieJim on list**

Perfect!

What Color does a smurf turn when you choke it?

Gamejunkiejim needs to replaced. I have somewhat of a personal Vendetta against some of his stupidity. He hasn't black listed me, but some of the posts he closes are legitamate posts and somewhere in his deluded mind he thinks they are wrong.

And what are these cases? Are you angry because he blacklisted you or locked one of your threads? Did he lock a thread you were really interested in?

The mods are chosen for a reason. They aren't picked randomly. They are the cream of the crop, so to speak.

He locked one of mine that had a valid point and several i have seen that do not deserve to be locked.

I posted something about the function of the ark, and what do ya know 30 minutes later exact same theory gets posted. It never got locked. Anyway i think he slacks of some times.

Check the create times. I locked yours because it was a duplicate. Nothing more, and nothing personal.

And trust me, count your lucky stars it's me doing the gunning on the Halo 3 forum at the moment. Most of the moderators aren't nearly as tolerant as I am. At the most I'll give you a week off for flaming or spamming excessively. If by chance I give a perma-ban, it's usually for posting a disgusting link, or being racist, or flaming to the point of being offensive. They aren't given out lightly.

I don't petition to have bans extended when I get super-flamey PMs, although it's something I could do easily. I don't ban for minor infractions, if I did, the Halo 3 forum would have 15 users.

What I do do, is let people vent at me in PM's, make my Messengers and emails public so people can contact me in an emergency, more specifically I worked with the other moderators to make some threads for use in that forum that could be repositories of all the ideas people had - so that if by some freak chance Bungie did decide to look at them they wouldn't have to chase down 4000 repeat topics and posts that have sunk to oblivion. So I kinda chuckle to myself when people call me a hard-ass in the Halo 3 forum, considering I'm doing what I can to make the forum enjoyable. I know this thread has an intention of making the moderators look bad, but seriously, look at it a bit closer. We're doing what we can, and the little bit of thanks we do get from time to time is heavily offset by the ungrateful whinings of people that simply do not want to follow the guidelines and rules for using the site.

Sorry, I ain't gonna sympathize with you.
