So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Posted by: Sentox6
Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.

It's just a number, don't concern yourself with it unless it's below 1.

And a decent KDR for the average Reach player is in the 1.1-1.2 range.

1 is a decent kill death ratio, means you generally arent a liability to your team... the higher above one you get, the "better" you are to an extent...my TS KD is 1.27 and my squad slayer is like 1.83..which is good...
You are bad. Your tool of death is the melee...really guy?
You are the random who drags his team down.
You are the cancer thats killing Reach.
I might lose my exalted status for this post, but the truth needs to be said...

Nope.

I'm in love with Jesus and proud of it!

Mines only 1.07, so I'd consider myself "average" as far as skill goes. Still, I think I do well in MOST of my games :\

When HaloCharts was up, the average for the entire of Reach was 1.3 so if you are below 1.3, you are below average.

Nope.

he is talking about Slayer. If you have a negative KD in TS, you are hurting your team. bottom line..if everyone goes positive in a slayer game, you cannot lose...
In gametypes other then slayer, no KD is irrelevant...

I consider myself barely above average with a 1.57, and it keeps on going up so it really doesn't matter whether I'm really good or not, my KDr is going to go up and up as long as I play. You'll see the day that I'll have a 2.0 or higher KDr and people will laugh at me, asking if I've payed for my account's stats from a goldfarmer (Read: WoW Gold Farming).

That's not taking into account improvement over time and bad game history/not being as good when one first starts playing.

...who am I kidding. God, I suck T^T

Like the guy above me is saying, everyone progressively gets better. The worse your start was, the more "damaging" it is to your more recent stats.

Another thing to take into account is how many assists you have. People don't realize just how important it is to get as many shots off on someone even if you know you can't kill them. Chances are, a teammate can mop them up quick thanks to you taking their shields down.

hence most serious stat tracking at least mentions KAD ratio...

Halo Charts did not track every single reach player.

That average was the average of people tracked by Halo charts.

K/D really doesn't matter. Who cares what a 'good' k/d is. If you are a force to be reckoned with the k/d will take care of itself basically.

Also take into account if you are solo queuing or going in with a party. If you play competitively with a group, your K/D and overall performance will be mountains better than when you casually go in alone. All in all, if you are super competitive, K/D should matter to an extent but most competitive players go in as a full party. If you like to just casually go into matchmaking for the simple fact of playing the game, don't worry about it.

Correct. Halocharts average is obviously more towards the higher skilled player, since HC was made up of more competetive players who took the game seriously. The plays-once-in-a-while casual .73 KD Living Dead kid wouldn't have a Halocharts account.
