Halo2 pushed the xbox to its limits in a lot of cases. If halo3 was going to be much more than Halo2, you could forget about it. And the trailer cutscene's geometry alone without any fancy textures and lighting schemes would probably not work at all on the xbox.
And Halo3 would be the killer app for 360.
What he says is entirely correct, the Xbox cannot handle the High-Res trailer's detail and quality. I have a modified Xbox and have both the Hi-res and Lo-res trailers saved to the HDD. When I attempt to play the Hi-res its RAM drops to around 2MBs (out of 64MB), hangs, and then returns to the menu (after the 5 second timeout). If I choose the Lo-res it plays fine. I know the Hi-res is not corrupt because I have the same copy on my computer and it works fine. I also attemped to use one from a different source (gametrailers.com) and it still didn't work. It seems that there just isn't enough RAM in the Xbox to just play the trailer. Nevermind the actual game.
Amazing Huh?
