Hey i was wondering what the connection between the Marathon series and Halo is...

And will we see a Marathon class ship in H3? I havn't seen one so far - besides the marathon symbol on the pillar of autum

The Marathon class cruiser has nothing to do with the game Marathon.

There are a few links (Mjolnir Mk IV in Marathon, Hunters) but other than those there isn't a rock solid connection.

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

Uh, look closly at the halo title on the main screen menu of halo 1, the marathon symbol is there, it's also on a badge on captain keyes' shirt, uh... The words SPNKr on the rocket launcher are from Marathon, I'll think of more later.

So there is no connection at all between halo and marathon besides a few signs / badges...Even tough it has a totaly different story i thought Halo would've had something to do with marathons past or marathon would have something to do with Halos future that a link could be established through the games... :(

Oh btw - hunters are in marathon? where
I thought i saw grunts aswell :S

I meant the use of their name and (to an extent) their style of armour. I forgot about the SPNKr as well.

If you try line up the Marathon and Halo storylines, they're too different. In Halo, slipspace travel was created before the Marathon was launched, making the whole Marathon project void. And in Marathon, teleporters were invented ages before 2552, but you don't see any in the Halo universe (because they're either very unstable or expensive or not invented, I can't remember).

There isnt any real connection between the two, apart from some easter eggs, i've only explained a few of them.

And even though the moniters and gravemind can teleport others and themselves, humans dont possess it, making the storylines rather wide apart, still both good games, though.
