Take ol' buddy Rascal

Jesus and Hylebos are two different people. You have some serious re-prioritization to do, my friend.

Ok, I am not going to even mention my religious views in this thread, and I'm using this post as an example, it is probably a joke anyway but it kind of fits what set me on a thought train here.

However, why is it that somebody who either responds in an anti-religious way or starts off with an anti-religious viewpoint is more likely to be punished than someone who approaches the situation as a theist, either from the outset or as a response?

Why is it taboo to go against someone's religious views other than supporting them, when in fact it can be seen as supporting their own view in the first place, a positive outlook rather than a negative one.

Say I was non-religious and made a post saying that "[insertreligiousfigure] didn't exist", it would be seen as much more negative than saying ""[insertreligiousfigure] is watching over you]". Of course this indicates a negative in the former and a positive in the latter, but apply this over a wider variety of scenarios; in general the atheist would be seen in a negative light.

To rifle through the namby pamby vague text here:

Why would someone arguing against religion have more of a chance of being punished than someone who is arguing for?

N.B. I am neither arguing for or against the existence of anything (including unicorns) in this thread. I want to promote a sense of equality amidst a multi-faith forum.

Unicorns aren't real?!?!?!

D':

Anyways, I am sure because saying something/someone is watching over you is usually used in a joking form. While saying "-Insert x here- doesn't exist." is just trying to be an ass to people who believe in that X.

Roll the dice, try again.

We're discussing a rule change or verification, not an actual religious discussion.

OT: It should be either way - for or against - are both punishable.

Look, like you I've been here for 4 years. This is about the moderation of people talking about religion, not about how the public should perceive it.

@snipe champ, I covered that. I said that the examples I used were obviously already positive and negative, but in other scenarios those sentence templates wouldn't be used. Take X will judge you over don't worry about X nothing will happen for example.

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

I think the rule applies when there's a religious argument, and the argument could be brought up by either party.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Why would someone arguing against religion have more of a chance of being punished than someone who is arguing for?
Mainly because it's the "non-believers" who start the discussion - which is forbidden by the forum rules, regardless of personal views. And you, nor I or anyone else, could possibly confirm this with statistics.

Perhaps a discussion is sparked by a non-believer, but their overt eagerness to start a discussion is often from a post or thread from another with opposing views.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

In my opinion, it would depend on who started the conversation (and how) & who responded (and how) - so neither would really have more of a chance. It may seem like one outweighs the other, but when it comes to instigation, those against appear to be a lot more common.

Just my opinion on the matter, but we also have to remember the mods are users - and users are human; keeping in mind that integrity isn't exactly a universal thing on the internet.
