after there betrayal on halo 2 the convenant is in a civial war between the elites, grunts and hunters. VS. the brutes, buggers, and jackals. since the arbiter realized that the prophets were leading them to destruction he teamed up with srgt. johnson to stop the activation of delta halo. so now will the arbiter lead the elites grunts and hunters to team up with the humans to defeat the phrophets from completing their mission to start the "great journey"

Umm...yup. That's whats happening. And as said in the Great Journey, they don't like each other, but they have to work together to not get blown up.

chances are the elites, hunters and grunts will help miranda and johnson and probably the rest of the humans but they will probably hate master cheif for a long time

  • 05.20.2006 9:51 AM PDT

I hope that we both will hav a common goal, but still kill elites n grunts, casue i like it.

They should, because The Arbiter and his Elites joined forces with Johnsons and Keyes. I don't like that they will mostlikely be our allies (I hope not), it won't be the same fighting alongside Elites as the Chief, and not blowing their brains out with a BR or Sniper.

this is how im seeing it (i do like the idea)

but the elites and every covenant at earth dont know what was going on at Halo yet.
So im thinking the arbiter is going to have to proove it, when he goes to earth (if that is)
that the prophet is only going to cause death on a massive scale with the halo's

Agree, before they thought that they could control the ring...but the truth is that all life in the whole galaxy will be exterminated if the ring was armed!

Why would they hate him now after they know about what halo does, MC saved them from killing them selfs

  • 05.20.2006 10:26 AM PDT

I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.

Of course they will like in multiplayer. At the moment they have a common enemy, but what about when that enemy is dead.

Some of the covinent will probly help you, but I doubt that all the covinent would believe that the prophets betrayed them. So you might even have brutes, bugs, and jackals helping you.

Any Elite on or around Earth would already know about the civil war. Covenant, and presumably Forerunner, ships are faster then UNSC ships. So I would assume they have a faster communication system as well. I believe that when we see the Cheif at the end of Halo 2, Lord Hood is facing an armada of Brute controled ships. As the entire Covie fleet had been recalled to Delta Halo for The Great Journey. Then the Prophets betray the Elites and civil war breaks out, around High Charity. Since the Covie/Human battle has been raging for many years. The number of Elites has dwindled, leaving a large group of Brutes. Elites and Humans will have to fight side by side just to deal with the overwhelming numbers of Brutes.

Dark Jester 86 is the Gamer tag.

I hope that they're not friends. It wouldn't be that great to play as John and just kill Jiralhanaes (Brutes) and Kig-yars (Jackals). By the way about the Yanme'es (Drones) will probably fight for the Prophets (Even though that doesn't make much sense to me unless they're tamed beasts used to fight). There will Probably be Unggoys (Grunts) and Lekgolos (Hunters) that are under the Prophets control so to slavery, possibly some Sangheili (Elites) are slaves to the Prophets to, but my point is, just fighting Brutes, Drones, and Jackals most of the game wouldn't be that great.

How about a band of genticly modifyed elits/grunts and hunters are made by the profits and are on the side of the prophits but the original ones are on the human side then everyones happy

Of course not.

The Arbiter's alliace with Miranda and Johnson was under extraordiary circumstances. This was a situation where they-and all life in that section of the galaxy- would go poof within literally minutes if they didn't unite. The alliance probably won't last all that long after they get off the ring and away form the Flood. Possibly even before

Now, I'm not saying that the Arbiter is immediately going to turn on Johnson and Keyes- far from it. However, the Arbiter (and the rest of the Cvenant) has had anti-human propoganda drilled into them for thirty+ years, from all sides. Such strong indocteration doesn't go away in a flash. Even if some Elites reluctantly (and it will be reluctant), a very large amount- especially the younger elites, who have grown up never knowing any other existance than campaign against the humans- will take an "over-my-dead-body" aproach, and may even feel that they had somehow displeased the Prophets and Gods. Instead of seeing the exchange of hats as a simple coup/power struggle, they will think that they have fallen out of favor and deserve to die.

Note that none of the cannon fodder that "assists" you in the fight against Tartarus are of a low rank. They are all Councilors or Gold elites, with the occasional Spec Ops. This is because the senior elites, if their life spans are anything like human's, are old enough to have grown up in a time before contact with humans, and, based of the number of species in the Covenant's parthenon, when assimilation was the name of the game. Because of this, they were able to swollow an alliance with the humans, where young elites might balk.

if you have read the Fall Of Reach you would know that it was the covenant who attacked first. The humans only defended themselves. If the humans just saved the arbiter's - and all the other ex-covies lives - bony alien asses, they shouldn't hav a reason to kill the humans. They can't blame the humans for anything. The Covenant started the war. So the arbiter and all the ex-covies will be on the humans side, or at least not trying to kill the humans
