Subject: Commands for marines

We have rose from the ashes of battle and we're goin' back in......................maybe...

I dont want there to be commands, i think it would distract players from the fast paced action that halo is known for. I think Bungie should work harder on the multiplayer than screw around with commands, that aren't needed in the game for it to be a success and a half.

why does anyone want to turn halo 3 into a call of duty type game I mean get a hold of yourself!

Why not?..................Why not incoporate a little thought into the game play?.............

I just want to be able to USE the marines around me, rahter then them just running rampant..............
Now, as I have stated before.....I would much rather have them think rationally for themselves............

I would much prefer a smarter AI over an order pattern............let their squad leaders do the ordering......it is their job to provide combat support to you...........

You face an opponent who has never known defeat, who laughs in foreign tongues at your efforts to survive. This is Reply suicide.

We wouldn't need to make it into a "Call of Duty" type game if Bungie could give our marines some decent AI.

As it is... They team kill, run us over, hit us with grenades, stand there and take hit after hit.... Yell at the enemy, and die in masses by grenades a grunt will fling at them from four hundred feet away.

If Bungie won't fix their AI, I want them to give me some commands I can throw at them.

i'd settle for MARINES swapping weapons with each other so that your rocket guy getting into the turret spot isn't a HUGE problem when facing lots of vehicles.

i dont think that commands would be necessary. especially since bungie IS increasing AI and theyre looking into multi player bots (so ive heard, but not to spread rumors, its just something everyones wanted. =) ) if you look at how the elites acted on legendary in H2, they were MUCH smarter then our human friends, well in my opinion ofcourse, BUT if the marines were TO good, the game would be to easy because they would mow everything down. but i wanna play as a hell jumper in H3, their armor looks sexy but master chiefs armor does look sexier. well theres my 2 cents unless i forgot something (i always do)

Oh yah, umm nvm

I dont really want commands in H3 mainly because of their complexity, but I did feel in the other games that the marines were a little out of my control...
For example every time I crossed a loading zone my allies did not want go over with me, or if I got too far away from them they never had the guts to keep up even if I was clearly in sight of them...
It became incredibly annoying. Other times they simply would not get in a vehicle for me, or if I got them out they would just get back in immidiately.
Perhaps some simple commands would do well in H3... I dont know.

If Bungie is going to FINALLY get some serious use out of allies in this installment, I'd definitely like some command over Mainres (Covenant as well perhaps? Everybody seems to be neglecting them, but then again the Arbiter doesn't seem to be of a position to command) as well as be able to view their health units. If I'm going to organise an attack, I don't want fatally-wounded allies leading a charge.

The health unit idea is excellent, in halo 1 you could see their health if they were in your vehicle but not in halo 2. Also, they should include a medic marine who can heal the others outside of battle, or during battle one shouts "I need a medic" while behind a warthog or something, and the medic runs over to start healing him.

Yes we need at least some simple commands like "Stay there" "Dont shoot me in the back" "dont stand there with a rocket launcher and just grin".

When you play H:CE on Legendary, in the second level, it would help so much if the AI didnt just rush out and start trying to digest a fair amount of needler shots.

It would be cool, but then it would be too Rainbow Six or <insert other Tom Clancy game>.

Your dumb. Tom Clancy's games' are way more circled around team commands. Halo 3 would/should have only 4 commands. Top arrow, down, left, right. That is NOT Tom Clancy. Have you even played Rainbow Six? There is like a lot of commands. Some are for interacting with doors and others are for combat or when to throw grenades. Why would they make the team commands that complicated you 'tard?
