Subject: Do you associate certain bnet users with certain forums?

Roll the dice, try again.

For instance, I see many people that usually stick to a certain forum or too. But when they post in a completely different one, does your stereotypical response kick in? I'm getting more active in the community now, rather than being a lurker.... but I'm already noticing a trend.

Even with member titles, compared to other forums. Most of them are grey/black bar. The community forum has this nice double rainbow thing going on :)

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Who the hell do you think I am?

Not really, I just use The Flood and this forum.

Not really, I don't really associate users with forums. People go everywhere.

I will see some other users on the Reach forums from time to time. If they were to spend time in another forums I wouldn't really know.

But when I do see a member I recognize, I do tend to have (what you refered to) a "stereotypical" thought as to assume what they probably posted before I even read it.

If I know someone for being an ignorant jerk, I think "Oh great, this guy. I wonder what he is posting now? Probably something ignorant." And most of the time, I'm usually right with my assertion.

I'll help: I associate spartain with the Community forum, as well as a few other members. I would not be surprised if people associated myself with the Community forum as I do not venture forth often.

OT: I've heard people say they associate me with the Halo PC/Halo 2 forums. Makes sense due to how much time I spend there. I don't get out to many of the other forums often.

There are certain people I do see outside a certain forum and think "Hmm, this is odd." Sort of like seeing a friend from work at a grocery store. It's obvious they're going to be going to the grocery store, but you just never see them there. You just see them at work.

I don't directly associate users to specific forums (as in, when I think of a user, I think of a forum, or the other way around); but, users are noticeably more likely to post on certain forums than others.

  • 02.18.2012 3:27 PM PDT

A little bit I suppose. Some obvious ones.

  • 02.18.2012 3:31 PM PDT

Nah not really. I see people from certain forums post all over.

That'll work perfectly!

On topic, I don't really associate certain members with certain forums. Probably due to the fact that I don't pay much attention to individual users that much.

  • 02.18.2012 4:04 PM PDT

Yes.

  • 02.18.2012 4:11 PM PDT

I suppose I do with some members, like I only see some members post here, and some members only ever post in The Flood. However, I don't really associate too many users with a single forum.

Yes. Most of them are always in the community forum, lurking the title thread.

There are three people I serve. God, Chuck norris, and Evilcam.

Never have.

  • 02.18.2012 4:32 PM PDT

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Definitely with some users, yes.
