Let's see, last time I've played:
headhunter
oddball
king of the hill
stockpile
swords
Swords? never (how is this even possible?). As far as all the other types go, maybe 3 or 4 times games of each in my totall play time of 11 days? I'm sorry, but I need have some fun in this game, because DMRs and forge world maps just don't cut it. Is there an updated article where I can view all of the maps, playlists and gametypes available? All I ever get to play is slayer. Rumble pit slayer, double team slayer, all slayer. This is disappointing being a halo 3 fan. There seems to be little variety in this game compared to Halo 3. Rarely any vehicles on maps, and most of the time I'm using a standard human weapon. Where has the focus rifle gone, the plasma launcher? Seriously disappointing. I've played Reach a tun despite these dislikes, but the reason I'm complaining so late in the game is because of TU slayer (hopefully TU everything). First of all, people are convinced that the majority of Reach players like everything just the way it is. Well, you're probably right, but you need to realise that the majority of Reach players (perhaps around 80,000 people considering there are only around 100,000 players online every day) take up a small fraction of the halo community. Halo 3 had just under a million players online long after release, daily. Just saying, for those of you who like Reach the way it is, you are the minority. The majority feels that Halo 3 had the best multiplayer, and TU slayer is the closest thing I've seen to it. If you care enough, read the following which is dedicated to my thoughts about TU and/or ZB.
TU/ZB:
Beat down through shields:
This is huge for pacing gun-fights. No more will you shoot someone to an inch of shields as they come at you, only to have them beat you down as you beat them, to put you both at a level playing field, even though you were the one to shoot first. In Halo 3, if you shoot first and beat down, you've won considering you've done enough damage. This is HUGE, and the beat down system SUCKS in Halo Reach. Keep this change!!!
Bleed/through shoot and kill through shields:
Again, this is important for pace. I couldn't stand shooting someone 5 times with a DMR attempting to bring down their shields so I could shoot them AGAIN...in the head. In halo 3 I believe the BR was a 4 shot kill, and the 4th shot killed through shields and depleted health (on a head shot). Kill times in halo Reach are way to slow. TU helps with this.
Bloom:
I don't see why we even needed this. Sure, it's only a visual effect, but it mind fu#%s you. It makes me pace my shots when I don't even need to and it just gets in the way. No, I don't suck with a DMR, this is my honest opinion coming from an above average player (Check my stats). I think it's a bad idea to reduce bloom though. I say either keep it or scrap it, please scrap it.
I actually don't know where to find the rest of the gameplay changes that TU slayer brings to the table, please inform me as I don't know where the information is. I'm only educated about this through gameplay.
Thanks to TU I'm starting to get 30 + kill games in Reach and I'm having a blast. Keep
TU, scrap the forge world crap maps, bring back some fuc#%#@ game types in this game
will be what it was meant to be.
I feel like 343 is going to save Reach, the game types and maps are sooo important though, and I don't think they can do much about that.
