I guess Im a wimp:(I've played both H1 (PoA, T&R, SC, AotCR, Two Betrayals, The Maw) and H2 (CS, OS, Metropolis, Oracle, QZ, Uprising, GJ) on LASO and found both of them enjoyable, challenging, but not necessarily frustrating. Likewise, their Legendary difficulties (H1: I assassinate as many Elites as I can and plasmas + Covie weapons = god, H2: dual wielding SMGs, getting assassinations, grenade sticks, manipulations).
Problems in CE: Wraiths
Problems in H2: vehicle combat, Flood, Brutes, Jackal snipers that never seem to stop spawning
H2 may have been the beginning of the end, but H3 and Reach are for hardcore players and are the end (unless 343 manages to give Halo 4 a balanced difficulty).
Look at the Legendary description: "Tremble as teeming hordes of invincible alien monsters punish the slightest error with instant death... again and again." H2 had the decency to take 'the invincible alien monsters' part out.
Look at the skulls: more advantages for enemies.
Look at the horrific AI (whether superior or inferior, they always have one thing in common: they're cheap), the player's grenade count, the weapon sandbox, the slow combat, the enemy damage, the huge number of bs and randomness.
