Straight from the wandering mind of Watson 203

I was just wondering what people's opinions are on the idea of an AI made from a Spartan brain. Do you think it would perform better than other AI's due to the brain being better than a normal human brain, would it be more likely to decend into rampancy?
For those who don't know, here's how Smart Human AI's are made,
"The process of creating an A.I. is different to what most people realize. Instead of simply "programming" a "Smart" A.I., the A.I. matrix is actually created by sending electric bursts through the neural pathways of a human brain which are then replicated in a superconducting nano-assemblage in a process known as Cognitive Impression Modeling. This destroys the original brain tissue however, and so the brain being used could only be obtained after the host had died. However, in some instances, as in the case of the A.I. Cortana, the candidate brain was flash-cloned and had its memories transferred to the receptacle organs so that the host, in this case Dr. Catherine Halsey, could remain alive. However, this is extremely inefficient. In the case of Cortana, out of twenty of Dr. Halsey's cloned brains, only two of them took."

What do you think?

I am...whimsical today.

A different way of thinking perhaps, but remember that Smart AI were not created from 'normal' human brains. As you said, Cortana was created from Dr Halsey's brain, one of the smartest humans alive during the Human-Covenant war.

I'm not even sure how memory transfers would work. As I understood it a Smart AI is not a clone of the brain in question, but based off that neural pattern.
Though there does seem to be some of Halsey in Cortana...

Sometimes the AI's have flickers of residual thoughts from the person they're created from. They can be feelings, memories or even manerisms like in Cortana and Dr. Halsey's case.
It's all dependant on the brain they're created from, which is why I was wondering about a Spartan brain. Would the memories and feelings make the AI act any differently for example prevent or postpone rampancy? Also, because they send electrical bursts through the neural pathways to create the AI, and Spartans brains are supposedly quicker at doing this, would that also make the AI better or faster somehow?

The process is explained in TFoR, I believe.

It's said that Halsey's brain was cloned multiple times or something like that, and that only one of the clones had survived the operation and from there Cortana was born. That's why they share feelings and emotions.

Two of the flash cloned brains survived, one creating Cortana and the other Kalmiya, Dr. Halsey's personal Smart AI.
Kalmiya was also used to test software and programs, etc for Cortana to make Cortana more powerful and reliable.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

AIs also have to be from someone really, really smart. So, the highest IQ spartans.

Through my eyes a Spartans mind is less creative and innovative than lets say a scientist. Seeing as Spartans have been institutionalised and conditioned to follow instructions, I don't think it would be the best idea.

I understand what you're saying and where your coming from, but the fact that they follow orders to the letter could help with an AI's ability to process orders.
I also do think the Spartans are still quite creative and inteligent because they have to be to achieve certain objectives they are set. I think they think outside the box more than your average person. They also should be more inteligent than others ,generally, because they were still educated. They just didn't learn the things a normal person would've at school, for example Spartans can operate lots of UNSC and Covenant technology and also understand (with great depth) certain aspects of physics like slipspace technology.

While true what you say, you have to remember that the Spartan's have the motto of ''Adapt or die'' in their bones.
With all the situations they can get out of and improvise to surpass shows great creativity, logic and imagination. They constantly have to adapt on the current situation and alter their orders and movements accordingly.

Take for example the start of TFoR, when the Master Chief orders to use the napalm, grenade and ap casing (meant to mope up the Grunts) to take out aerial targets. He even says they weren't made for that, but that they'd do and that shows great imagination and improvisation on his part, and the fact the Banshee's were taken out shows how effective his idea was.
