Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Or, it could just be based on the pills... red or blue, down the rabbit hole or not?

Because green and purple would be strange and red and blue are natural enemies.

Naturally.

Red and blue are not inverted colors necessarily, but they have opposites on human behaviors. Red is a color of excitement, war, anger, sex, blood, excitement. While blue is a color of depression, calming, peace. These colors could also symbolize things such as good vs. evil or maybe even the Allies vs. the Axis.

...Or, so you know who to shoot and who not to shoot. Like in Chess; if you pick the darker pieces, then you know "these are yours. See those lighter pieces? Go kill them."
I see your point but you didn't explain why it is red and blue. What you did was compare it to chess and said so you know who is your teammate or not. If that was the case there wouldn't be a specific color for teams it might as well be black vs. white.

Red and Blue stand out from each other and the background. Other colors just don't contrast the environments or each other as well. Also, they are both primary colors.

chances are I don't care who you are or what you say.

Damn..... don't read into it too far. Nice post, but they're just standard opposites in media. Matchmaking in no way fits into Halo lore. There were never that many spartans.

Red actually contrasts Green the most, as does Blue to Orange. Two primary colours cannot contrast each other.

So I'm pretty sure Bungie didn't make it up by looking at the colour wheel. I think they just represent the opposite temperatures 'heat and cold'.

Damn ghostie117 beat me to it.

My guess is most of this story wasn't written yet. Halo CE was basic (as was the multiplayer). You're on a ship escaping a planet when you find an alien ring planet that you discover can destroy everything. I highly doubt they had developed the story as far as the 5 W's on how the forerunners died. so, when creating this story its quite easy to use objects or, in this case, colors that you have already applied. It also makes the game seem more intertwined.

My butt hole feels better.

Or because Red was mostly player one and Blue the player 2 in most games? Like Super Smash Bros?
