This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

The site is definitely declining, but this happens every time in between games.

This.

I'm going to become less active here prior to the release of Mass Effect 3 in order to avoid getting he game spoiled.

The sound of iron shocks is stuck in my head, The thunder of the drums dictates
The rhythm of the falls, the number of dead's the rising of the horns, ahead
From the dawn of time to the end of days I will have to run, away
I want to feel the pain and the bitter taste of the blood on my lips, again

I don't know.

Community seems much more active then it used to be.

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

I'd say we lost quite a few members. Mainly from the Halo forums. We have been staying the same for a while now.

  • 02.20.2012 3:04 PM PDT

Hard to say really, probably lost some but we'll gain them back hopefully when bungie release their new game!

  • 02.20.2012 4:08 PM PDT

I would say bungie.net is losing members. There is no reason for it to be gaining members, considering everyone who wants to talk about Halo (should) go to the 343i site. There is nothing else of interest here for new members really.
Destiny speculation is a reason for members to join. I reacently got back into checking and posting in the forums because of it.

Im pretty sure we are loosing members right now, but we will see a HUGE rise when destiny comes out.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

Scince Bungie is not allowing anymore halo posts
...where do these ideas come from?

I say staying the same as of right now.

I think we're losing members, but once Bungie's next game begins to unfold, activity will increase on the site again.

All halo conversation has moved on over to 343i. They usually close or give a warning whenever you post a halo releated post. It's considered off-topic now.

If I am not posting, then I am reading what you might have posted.

It is a never ending spree of the same feel and reel. I know a lot of members due to this "Dark-ness".

Have you tried the Halo: Reach forum, the Halo 3 forum, the Halo 3: ODST forum, the Halo 2 Forum, the Halo 1&2 for PC forum, the Halo: Combat Evolved forum, and/or the Halo Universe forum? Because there seems to be halo conversation going on in all of them.

I would say that we're losing members. But then again...since Achronos disabled the auto-delete so members wouldn't lose their accounts because of the dark phase we're going through.

  • 02.20.2012 10:53 PM PDT

Losing. Atleast until details on Bungie's next game come out.

It seems you may be right. The old standard saying "come for the stats, stay for the lame jokes" will no longer apply starting at the end of march.

Sometimes, I dream about cheese.

losing ofcourse, however the Halo 2 forums will spike up for a period of time if 343 Industries make an anniversary edition for it like they did for Halo: Combat Evolved (hopefully they'll use the original multiplayer this time)

When I grow up I want to be bitter and spiteful.

Since we're taking this to a vote; it would seem that we are losing members at a slighter higher rate than we are not losing members.

I find it hard to want to come here.

- -blam!- threads posted over and over again by idiots.
- Site updates are too far between and even when the updates come they just change a bit of CSS.
- Basic features and functions are missing from the site.
- No self moderation/filtering tools except for blocking PMs from certain users. I don't want to see a lot of peoples -blam!-. And I'm sure a lot of people don't want to see mine.
- Groups feature updates, who gives a -blam!- about groups? Web team doesn't think we do obviously.

We're living in 2004. Only thing keeping me here is Deej's hard (and good) work at managing events and obviously a few groups.

Seriously, I bump into more of the people who made bungie awesome on other sites more and more now.

You know what I'm posting is true. No need to keep defending the webteam for lack of features. Stop replying to the dumb threads with "LOL".

I dont know if you are talking about this thread, but if you are I did not make it so we could complain about the site in general. I merely wanted everyones input on weather or not we are losing or gaining members and why they think that.

We certainly aren't gaining a lot of new forum goers, but I know that we aren't losing too many forum goers since the majority of users have already either went to Halo Waypoint/343i or stayed here.
