"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

Predators have better technology than Elites as far as I know.

No they don't; Plasma Grenades, Focus Rifles, Plasma Pistols (EMP), Needler (OMG!), Armor Lock, Jet Pack, Bubble Shield, Armor, and they are smart as hell. Elites are way too advanced.

It's a shame that none of that technology is actually theirs, nor do they know how to use it properly. And as for this infatuation for their supposed intelligence, they have demonstrated themselves to be quite incompetent in that department all throughout the Human-Covenant War. The same arrogance that lead to the Predator's downfall also leads to the Elites being beaten several times when they should have had an easy victory.

This is true he is a cybernetic organism living tissues over medal endo skeleton. However what do you make of a predator being killed by a wimpy pianist with a giant nose

LOLOLOLOL

Since the OP said that the two groups are fighting on a hunting preserve planet, I think the Predators have a huge advantage, at least in terrain familiarity and hunting tactics

Join Halo Haven! (Group Leader: A 3 Legged Goat)

(To discuss Halo 4.)

The Elites win because they have energy shielding.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

Elites are far superior. Disregarding their shield generators, more advanced weaponry and most likely superior intellect, elites would win in almost every aspect, including a bare fistfight.

Predators have been defeated by mere modern day humans on multiple occasions, whereas elite majors, the second lowest rank, are physically equal to Spartans in terms of strength and reaction times.

Just noticed OP said spec ops elites, Predators are -blam!-. Spec ops elites are the best of the best.

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

I totally agree plus the predators all got taken down by non augmented humans. Even Spartans have trouble taking down elites sometimes so elites have an edge over humans and thus an edge over the predators.

Master Chief would kill them all hands down.

I agree cameo cream the chief could take them all on at once and win

Arnold Schwarzenegger is no normal human.

Yeah he's been in musicals!

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

One predator dies, the others activate his wrist bomb and run, Elites believe they give up and rejoice...boom.

Plot weapons. That's like saying Stormtroopers can't aim.

Difference is, the primary resolution of the plot in the Predator movies is that the human outskills the Predator. It's not a matter of plot armor when that's the plot.

What exactly is the divergence between the two here? They are both about arrogant "superior" opponents getting outsmarted and outskilled by supposedly "inferior" foes.

The Predator is the primary antagonists--the Elites in Halo Wars were the faceless grunts of a battle that were placed there for the sake of a cool action sequence that otherwise didn't further the plot. The battles in Predators all had the same reccuring messege: that the humans are ultimately the better killers (by a thin margin). The divergance is that one had no real point other then for the sake of action, the other was specifically about humans being better killers and outsmarting the Predators.

Plus I think it's safe to say Halo Wars isn't the most reliable source of information regarding Halo canon.

I also think you're underestimating the Elites. They've been said by the Forerunners in the besterium to be quite intelligent, but arrogant-minded. Arrogance doesn't detract from inate intelligence, just how it's used. If the Elites recognize their foe as a worthy adversary before it's too late, they will flip the brains on.

I am not restricting things to Halo Wars alone. It is a theme in Halo overall it appears.

So wait..how does this not apply to the Predators?

In either case though, it appears that what we have here is yet another case of "They are much better than what we have seen in all media so far, it is just that they never really tried". There is really no indication that this is true, (They regarded Humans as a worthy foe, yet they seemed to still rely on their technology or experience) and you can justify almost anything using that sort of reasoning.

By 343GS, not "the Forerunners", as nebulous as that is now. We don't know what that is in relation to, and I find it more likely that it was put there to emphasize the fact that despite focusing solely on warfare and having the facade of a barbarian race under that shiny, stolen power armour of theirs, that they are actually more sophisticated than that.

I am not saying they are stupid, but they ain't no race of Einstein's, contrary to the "Sangheiliphilia" that this place has grown lately.
