Can someone just explain to me where they came from and who they are. Just wondering because of all the talk of how they just appeared and started taking high positions and Tatarus is obviously not believing in the whole religious aspect.

His remarks in H2 prove it well. If you think about it Brutes are forerunners in the sense the run on all fours. Wouldn't that be the -blam!- if the Brutes turn out to be Forerunner Ancestors. I know that sounds bizaar but from what I was told from a moderator, no-one has even come close to the story. But Tartarus did try to activate the ring but if he doesn't believe the great journey crap why would he be trying to activate it. If I remember correctly he was alone and acted on his own when trying to activate it.

I for one can't believe no-one is close but who knows and I never hear anyone mentioning the structire found by the humans on the alien planet(forgot the name)

"You must face the truth squarely and without flinching from duty. Our enemies are mortal no longer. Mercy for such as they is a chimera, self-deception is its only ally. Dedicate this weapon, given unto your hand at the behest of the Emperor, to their destruction. Regard its function as your only duty: you live only to bring cleansing fire."

the elites got too smart, the prophets slowly began replacing them with a creature that was less intelligent

"Fight for peace, make love not war, unless you love to kill!"
-Four Postmen

He had to use Miranda Keyes in order to activate the ring, she was the "reclaimer". The Brutes are the most recent addition to the Covenant's array of species, most likely they were conquered or joined deliberately when they heard the cause.

Brutes are actually a genetic mutation of Chuck Norris.

I sure hope that this story has an amazing ending because if it sucks Bungie will look bad and people will forget all the good things about them.

I just don't want to find out it was exactly what so-and-so said.

I wonder of someone was right if they would admit it. There is so much to be right about it is like matching all the lottery numbers. I am sure soem things people say are correct and some are not.

Still if Forerunners were so great why didn't they just make these rings and fire them from a safe distance and permanently trap the Flood with impenetrable force fields around the Halos.

Furthermore is any gun in the game can kill a Flood, then how come these Hyper Advanced Civilizations could kill them but managed to trap them on 7 rings.

If they have been trapped for so long without causing problems, why is it necessary to activate the rings at all.

I mean now they are definately off the ring rom H2 but before that was it really needed to do it. I am referring to the original firing. Maybe they had to starve all the Flood not on the 7 rings.

It is still bazaar that the Forerunners were able to keep the confined on the rings as seen when on them but they were still a threat and needed the rings to be activated.

Whoever said the Forerunners were good. Maybe they were trying to use the Flood to kill the Covenant or any Alien race like the Prophets and that is why people hate Humans so much.

The possibilities are endless.

What does that have to do with anything? Good job.

I think the Brutes joined willingly, saying "Better than getting owned by Covenant. Even if we don't believe in what they stand for."

Wrong. Brutes evolve into Chuck Norrises, and become smarter than the Forerunners thousands of years after the Halo universe. They make a time machine, but one stands out above all. He kills the whole race all on his own and travels back in time, now we have our Chuck Norris.
