I quote on the bottom so that when I go to my recent posts I'll know exactly what I wrote, rather than seeing a bunch of BBcode and having no idea what I said.
Also, Bread's reasoning makes sense as well. Click reply, type out your post, click quote, then submit.
I understand your argument, but I would rather ensure that my posts are simple to read in the thread itself, by placing the post's context before my reply. When multiple members are quoted (in a 'quote pyramid') it also much easier to determine the order of the posts if everyone has replied below the quote.
If the quote is placed below the post, it means that you must either skip the reply, to read the quote first, or read the reply without knowing its context. I would much rather to be able to read a post from top to bottom, as is logical.
As for Bread's argument, it does not require much effort to quote above a post. Simply quote, delete the space, type your response, then submit. In fact, the time saved from being able to read posts in a logical order almost certainly outweighs the extra time it takes to quote before replying.
