Does anybody know when this was posted? I cant seem to find a date?
Late June or early July or thereabouts. The page was not found until people started reporting that they had found the tickets in their bags o' swag.

All known info about the contest

Thanks for posting that.
Yeah, not that I know a whole lot more than I already did, but at least I know i'm not the only one who is kind of in the dark about the whole thing.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Here's an interesting point. So, there was a One of Seven contest.

Is there a Two of Seven? Could there be seven different opportunities to get this golden ticket?

I am never late,Nor am I early; I arrive precisely when I mean to.

I don't think the contest has started yet.

I think its a bit unfair that if you live overseas you didn't get the chance to even buy a bag o swag -_-

  • 02.21.2012 3:17 PM PDT

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

I'm so confused.

What are you confused about? maybe I can help.

  • 02.21.2012 3:27 PM PDT

That's kinda B.S.

I tried ordering a Swag Bag but my card was declined. Problem was, Amazon didn't tell me my card was declined until 2 days later, by which time the bags had been sold out.

  • 02.21.2012 3:32 PM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

What the hell is that?

I saw a ticket a while ago, and now this has not only made me more interested but more confused as well.

Your ticket and the verification code contained therein are personal, one-of-a-kind, and not transferable.
Looks like you get a ticket and a verification code from the site.

I can't say for certain, they just said the winners would "receive" a ticket.

A golden ticket in the shape of a 7?

The code is on the ticket.
"Do not reveal the hidden code beneath the scratch off"

It says no purchase necessary, which implys you can obtain a ticket without buying anything.

Well... It also says "no purchase necessary", as he pointed out... perhaps there were some in the Swag Bags, but not all of them?

As I said already, I remember reading somewhere that only 2 tickets so far had been found from swagbags. Although, some people might not have come forward with the winning ticket.

I think the "no purchase necessary" might refer to the fact the ticket itself was free. I'm not to sure though.

I know, two were found in Swag Bags, but if the rest (or even just at least one) were to be given out, then you still have a chance to get a ticket without buying anything, meaning it's not necessary to buy something to win. It doesn't say "purchase is not necessary nor does it increase one's chances of winning", it just says that purchase isn't absolutely required to win.

The "and" does not imply individualism.

I just realized I might have been reading it weird. I was reading it as "the ticket and code within the site" rather than "the ticket and the code within the ticket". Perhaps it was purposely worded that way?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

You can email Bungie on their contest email to get a list of winners.

Learn to grammar. The phrase is:

"Your ticket and verification code contained therein..."

Do you know what "contained therein" means? There refers to the antecedent of the ticket. Therein means that whatever the subject of that clause is (in this case, "code," which is one of two compound subjects), is contained within the initial subject which is, as previously stated, acting as an antecedent ("ticket").

TL;DidntBotherToListentoReason: The code is in the ticket.

OT: It's obviously a ticket to a secret Bungie.net sub-domain that contains nothing but employee nudes.

People, lets all calm down.

I am curious what Bungie thinks is "extraordinary". It must be pretty cool.

Visit http://www.bungie.net/oneofseven to receive further instructions. Your ticket and the verification code contained therein
You can think of it as either:
Visit http://www.bungie.net/oneofseven to receive further instructions. Your [ticket] and the verification code contained [therein]Because of the retardedly verbose reasoning given above, which is when you think of the sentence being completely independent (which I did not). OrVisit [http://www.bungie.net/oneofseven] to receive further instructions. Your ticket and the verification code contained [therein]Because you can think of the sentence as being dependent on the one preceding it, meaning you would group "ticket and verification code" together because of the word "and", and link the anaphor "therein" to the web address because the latter sentence would be elaborating on the first one.

Both interpretations are grammatically acceptable -- although confusing -- so please stop trying to make everything an argument, and please stop automatically assuming you are right and taking a stance of arrogance on an Internet forum, really.

Anyway, I think we might be able to print out a ticket or have one emailed to us or something on Bungie Day. That'd be cool.
