I respect your opinion, I'm probably just going to disagree with it.
Hmmmmmmm this is what i love, discussing the AI.
Well, for one thing, (I've mentioned this elsewhere but I'll repeat it) If high ranking Elites are in a ghost when you stick it, they can leap from their ghost, probably with a backflip off the seat, and land happily on their feet ready to fight you. This should be a random occurance with low ranking Elites, but as the rank increases, the chances increase as well, to near certainty with Spec Ops/Zealots.
I also thought it'd be sweet if Zealots, when holding a sword, were able to keep it out when in a ghost, kind of like cavalry, and can therefore slash at groups of people surrounding the ghost at close range, and if you try and board the ghost he can knock you off, but only if he knows that you've boarded him (hint hint: Do it when he's not looking)
Flood: They're agile and so on, so I thought it would rock to see them have a decent climbing script and animation, so when youre least expecting it they can drop from the ceiling, or clamber away into the shadows.
Jackals are also quite nimble, so I thought it would be cool to have them climb trees and snipe you from up there or create ambushes. I always imagined them to climb trees a bit like a squirrel.
In terms of attacks, this is more animations than AI, but there are a couple I thought of. One is the Flood (again, you can see I like the Flood). This is a finale attack, to kill or finish off the enemy. Basically, the Flood attack form will straighten out his tentacles and force them through the chest of the enemy, then rip them out, killing them. Another was that they'd pick up small people (like Marines or grunts) by the neck and throw them around.
The other was Elites with a sword; they seemed too clumsy to me and need to be drastically speeded up (in my opinion anyway) and some new attacks are needed. One is stolen from the E3 2000 where the Elite picks up the Marine through the chest using his sword... nastiness. A couple of others were things like jump attacks, where they could cleave people in two with their sword.
The other one (sorry about the longness people!) was unarmed combat. The Elites are masters of this and we hardly get to see it. Things like turning kicks or viscious hand-offs, also the things the arbiter uses in the cut cinematic off the LE DVD. It's be sweet to see an Elite smash a Brute into the ground in the same way off that cut cinematic!
I have others but I think I will leave it at that... for now!
