I think the idea about getting shot and it leaving a mark would be good but the part about slowing down when you get hit in the legs might not be so good because you wouldn't be able to dodge anything like say a brute trying to tackle you or whatever is coming at you and then you would be dead or almost dead or something... just my thoughts

you mean like in half life 2, where the headcrabs show visible holes where you shot them? its a neat feature, but why implement it if there are so many other awesome features that could use the buildtime alot more?

and the slowing down will be too much of counterstrikey to me, and i hate cs.

Well after respwan all such damage would have to be neutralized but I do agree with some minor visible damage on the armor but actual game effects should be neutralized. Such as some jackoff with a rocket launcher blew off your arm because he had the better gun (whore) now you are left even more disadvantaged.

Besides the animation for headshots would be a bit too brutal for some players. It could discourage certain parents from giving more sales to bungie. Besides i always felt halo games played quite well with it's minimal blood shed actually shown. (just colorful blood splatter).

Though in team games damaging and covering over armor color with bullet holes could screw you up and lead to team damage because you couldn't see that the guy was red or blue because he had charred armor from an encounter with an explosive.

Yo!

yeh, i think the idea of having visible physical damage to armor and to your weapons would be a good idea but as long as it didnt have any effects. If it did have effects it just wouldnt be like halo anymore
