That's right Kira the DMR doesn't magically fire faster. The game also doesn't magically fly in the console and I'm sorry princess fairy but unicorns are not real. You have to push the button for it to work and pushing the button faster now makes rifle go boom boom quick time fast fast. O.K. princess?



DMR still has a max RoF. pulling the trigger faster than the cap won't do anything.

TU did nothing to increase that cap.

The guy's saying you can shoot faster with less of a consequence. Since the bloom resets faster, you are able to fire faster while not suffering the normal consequence of half your shots still hitting perfectly, and the other half missing.

I don't mind this though. Full spam on vanilla settings still worked too well. Now pacers and spammers are on more even footing.

Nice opinion bro.

The only "problem" with bleedthrough at the moment is the health pack glitch that, should you not know, only shows up when damage received is from a melee. No other weapon will cause that bug.

Also, 75% melee damage fixes this problem.

I like it and everytime we go in we wreck people.
Ive noticed all the players that like TU play it all the time and players that hate it go to forums and say crap about it. Most players dont even go to forums they just play the game. Its like that for everything I think.

By that logic, since bloom resets faster, pacing your shots is easier also. I don't see the problem.

There was NO problem with no-bleedthrough at all.

Furthermore, the problem not only lies with the healthpack glitch (which in itself is a big problem) but also with the fact you can't exactly tell when you're going to die from things. It used to be "I have shield. I'll live from at least one more DMR bullet." Now it's "I have shield. It's about a third left. I think I'll li-" and you're dead. Same goes for whether or not a melee will kill you.

Bleedthrough makes the game more unpredictable. The game should be as consistent as possible. I shouldn't take two or three AR bullets and a DMR bullet and not know whether or not I'm going to die from one more shot. No-bleedthrough worked. Very well.

You know, so that you can speak with some experience and have a little more rounded opinion of the game before berating far more experienced players.

Then let me educate you.

3 DMR shots + melee has the same damage output as a single melee in vanilla settings.
That is a problem either you want it or not.

The health pack glitch is the only problem occuring with the TU and it only happens when you receive damage form a melee and survive.
I have yet to really notice it ITG since its so, uncommon.

Can't say when you're a 4 shot or 5 shot?
Are you full shields?
-Yes : 5 shot
-No : 4 shot

Did you pick up a health pack after receive melee damage and lived?
-yes: 4shots.. maybe less
-No : 5shot.


Bleedthrough is entirely predictable if you know how it works.

3 shots and a melee did the same damage, yes. This was never a problem if you knew how to play vanilla Reach. If you knew how to play, when somebody meleed you after you put three DMR shots into them, you'd shoot them again THEN melee. They'd die, you'd live. It was easy.

Currently it's not whether or not I'm 1 shot from consistant DMR fire that I'm worried about. I know how to count. The difficulty comes in when your shields are recharging or if you get hit by ANOTHER weapon. When your recharge is stopped abruptly, you don't know whether or not you are going to die from one bullet or not. You knew in vanilla. If you had shields, you'd live.

The TU made that aspect of the game less consistent. You can't always tell whether or not you will live. You could before. It's that simple. I'd take consistancy and predictability (not to mention a more skilled approach that allowed you to calculate on the fly how battles would play out) to the garbage in place now which ends in many more traded deaths and seemingly random deaths.

TU sucks real bad,

Why?? It's got nothing to do with any specific thing that changed i'm more annoyed at the fact they changed the game after I had got used to original settings that Bungie set.

It has been annoying me so much having to work out all the things they changed using trial and error and constantly dying, I get so peeved at the TU I just turn my xbox off. TU is a massive fail to me.

Sure these current settings would be fine if they did it from the start but they didn't and i'm not gunna take the time to get used to it too many frustrating moments.

I was happy and had adjusted to the old settings now i'm not and starting to get real peeved at this game

actually That is where you are only half correct. Given that bloom has been reduced the ability to utilize the Full firing rate of the DMR is in a much greater effect, therefore the firing rate while still maintaining accuracy has indeed gone up therefore reducing the skill required to shoot the gun.

Firing slowly doesn't take skill. Anyone can do that. The real is on being able to aim and avoid being shot.

So what you're saying is that it takes more skill to shoot a gun slowly and stay on target than it does to shoot a gun faster and still stay on target? That really doesn't make sense.
