Subject: I never play in a party. KD 2.05 Good or bad?

I don't see how other people affect your KD... and I have a feeling this is just a thread to show off a KD that isn't worthy of showing off...
Your team mates cannot hold map control and drag you down with them. if they die 50 times, then you are likely to die around the same because your team cannot kill the enemy team in any way shape or form. So it's basically a 1v4 with three random idiots.

I never play in a party. In other words, I ALWAYS get matched up with -blam!- team mates who can't do anything. If I played in a party with everyone as good as me, I'd be surprised if my K/D was less than 5.00.

Thinking quite higly of yourself and your k/d there, I assume you're expecting rain of Wow's and Oh's in this thread.

I hardly ever play in a full party, usually I search alone or with my girlfriend who isn't exactly the best Halo player and maintaining good k/d ratio is quite hard. However, k/d doesn't measure your skill, especially in Reach where using stuff like banshee is ridicilously easy kills.

k/d is a factor of how skilled you are. We can argue over how important it is, but to say that it doesn't factor in how skilled you are is blatantly wrong.

I don't understand why make such a big fuzz over k/d ratio, and people who usually care about it, quit the game when things aren't going your way or if someone else grabs that power weapon.
It's because Bungie was too retarded to put a rating system in like Halo 2.

On a side note, you don't have too many kills/games played to ultimately rate your stats.
I haven't played enough to know my win rate, but I have played enough to know how good I am.

To be honest I'm just interested in how high people think my K/D ratio would be if I was teamed up with a full party of 8 of people the same skill level as me.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

If you read k/d like a bible, I guess I can consider myself better than you. Kudos to me.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

Depends what playlists you play.

Achieved a Killimanjaro twice in Halo 3 and got one in Reach. (It was Grifball but still counts!)

I would say you're excellent based on the teammates you play with. Sometimes that works with me as well, but I don't mind sometimes.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Banshee is 2nd on ToDs. Gah.

Is it a bad thing to be good with the Banshee? In the last game I played it was on Headlong. I was first to get in the Banshee and ended the game with 58 kills and 1 death. What a n00b I am right? A real pro would've gotten out of the Banshee and sniped/DMRed that many people to death righT? I must suck if I use a powerful thing like the banshee, only n00bs use powerful weapons.

Anyway, teh point is the Banshee DOES take skill to use. If you're good in a Banshee then it's easy to get kills. If you suck then you're gonna get blown up. There's a gauss hog and 3 sniper rifles and a machine gun turret on Headlong. If you think it takes no skill to stay alive well then, you're ignorant.

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

A "real pro" wouldn't be screwing around in BTB to begin with, so meh.

Other maps, outside headlong, the options to take down the banshee are alot more limited. And even a retard can use it effectively. Especially when majority of BTB players are completely helpless without vehicles.

I assume you spend alot of time flying in BTB considering you're defending banshee.

0.14 k/d in Double team /thread.

Btb takes literally 0 skill. I use to play alot of it and i know it takes no skill. i could play with my back to the tv get in a banshee and still get an unfrig.

I do spend "alot" of time in the Banshee, as it's the most powerful thing in the game and I'm often the best player so I'm first to get to it. And being good in the Banshee means I die less. So yes, I do spend a lot of time in it. Anything else you'd like to add?

Also, to those saying Btb takes no skill: everything takes skill.

I love it when people create these threads disguising their boasting as a question, then scramble to defend themselves when no one else buys into it.

No one is going to respect your Banshee kills, end of story.

Even if "everything takes skill", some things take very little skill. Compare a perfect 5sk in MLG to EMP-pummelling someone with armour lock.

And so God called Moses to come forth but he came fifth and was therefore disqualified.

I think it's good, mine sucks.

You'll die less, if your team is coordinated. Its not really representative of what you alone can do.

  • 02.23.2012 12:05 PM PDT

It's pretty simple. If you have good teammates they'll kill the enemy before you can get killed and they'll help you get kills by assisting you. They'll control the weapons and the vehicles on the map too, preventing the enemy from getting them. Honestly, having a good party makes a huge difference.

So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.

lol being "good" with the banshee

OP, you're bad. You predominantly play BTB, and your account is young enough that trueskill hasn't taken effect. Given these factors, a KDR of only 2 is laughable.

My bad. I forgot that everyone is as good as everyone else in the banshee.

You do realize that the average KDR is 1.00, right? It doesn't really make sense to call my KDR laughable.

Reach has no trueskill fool.

Nope, average KDR is above 1 because you aren't accounting for guests.

But that being said, a KDR of 2 on an account as young as yours is bad. You're playing against much more inexperienced players than someone of a higher rank, and you play nothing but BTB and are a self-proclaimed banshee pilot. The banshee doesn't take "skill".

This is what a good player's BTB stats look like. Take notes, son.

My stats would look similar to that if I always played in a full party of 8.

edit: just so it's clear: im joking. My win rate would be very very high though.
