'I wore that armor just long enough to find her... I almost forgot I have a sword on my back.'

'So, I have left some of my tags behind me, who knows how many now.' 'ODST, come in... come in ODST... This is Knightless O07.<(Be advised the shadows are moving, on your location.)>
Gather warriors walking through nightfall... As the night passes, and the light of dawn first crested the trees, The chill of this morning was still shrouded in the mist.
In the old times, there where storys to be told around the fire, of our past and the skills of the guard. Stories of our own betrayed, and the skills of the sword. A man could choose his fate, risk what he must to endure the long night.
Still, most would rather the warm tavern and a game to pass the hour. I have today a story of rogues.
They say that there was a beginning to the Rogue. Left to do the work for guards long forgotten by most, he was scorned and left to the cold of the dark most days before the sun reached the markets, and he could steal what he could to survive. Existing on what a common boy could, left to the scorn of the guards who he helped and the priests that raised him. They say though he scored there pious ways, there influence still reached him in his later years.
As Immortals go, it is hard to say what brough tthe Rogue before the others. If it was a blessing or a curse, I am not sure... His gift was the ability to steal anything. He showed compassion upon a poor traveler, shared the fruit from the market he had stolen, perhaps he intended to steal from the traveler as well, though he revealed himself for an wizard, and granted him the wish of his heart as payment. The blessing and the curse.
It is because forever after, it was the burden to be able to steal anything. No tower could defend against what it could not see, the guard he hated, he took his vengeance upon, and the treasures of the world where at his feet. Yet it was not enough...
The Rogue could steal anything, even immortality. It was the innocent that kept the shadows away. There are many stories of that famous rogue, and his love of magic, that became his obsession until war between the kingdoms of men and orcs broke the peace of the land.
They say that he saved the life of the empress herself, and joined the other Immortals, after he left the guards, disappearing into the forgotten lands.
