People with an actual sense of self-respect to their lives. You're telling me that you'd like to be kidnapped when six years old, taken to a random military base, have any records from your life erased only to be trained as a tool of war? your life must be really pathetic if you think that's cool, at least with the Spartan III's they got to say yes or no.
Yes, becuase a six year old or younger traumatized orphan really has any concept of what he/she is signing on for. "Do you want to fight the monsters that killed your family and destroyed your home?" Do you think the child has any real concept of what that really entails? Even psychologically people are generally happier with less choices (Contrary to popular belief). It's called synthetic happiness, and it is just as real and just as pleasurable as real happiness. Look at Soren. He was given choices, and previous psychological damage aside, he was generally one of the least happy S-IIs. Given fewer choices you actual rationalize your current position and find solace in it. Given more choices, you often find yourself second-guessing yourself, wondering if you actually made the right choice.
