Roll the dice, try again.

I think this would be a very cool feature. Basically you can hide in the shadows and contribute to discussion.

For instance, look at Qbix's post in this thread

Clearly it was locked before hand. But the next day Qbix comes by and posts in it to tell Tom that he sucks at video games. I think it would be very awesome to have this in the main forums for regular users. When you dig it up in later years, you might just uncover a new secret! (thats what she said)

Discuss!

When I grow up I want to be bitter and spiteful.

A sage feature could allow users to appropriately respond to spam without bumping it to the top of the page.

Yes, there have always been times where I want to post in a thread and tell the people in the thread that it is either off topic, wrong forum, or that they should just let the thread die.

You know our motto, We deliver!

Yeah if you could choose to do so, that would be pretty cool.

I was a finalist :P

I assume the user would select whether or not the post they type will either be like it is now or be a post where the topic is not bumped back to the top.

While it would be an appropriate feature in regards to helping other users who post off-topic content, without the need for bumping the topic; you'd have the problem of users responding inappropriately in threads which may not even be on the front page (or even as far as a few months back). A user can flame and argue with another, or post inappropriate content, with a greater chance of not being caught; as their posts would not subject the thread to being sent to the start of the forum topics page.
