Subject: Stupid stuff that should be fixed...

1. Forfeit button:
Nobody likes having their asses handed to them, and it is especially worse when it's you against 4 (cause your randoms suck and left/lagged out. A forfeit option, in the start menu, should be put in (even if it is only available in impossible situations, like 1 vs 4) to allow the other team to still get the win without the single getting completely curbstomped and soulcrushed. This is something I wouldn't expect in Reach, it's too late to code. Maybe we could see something in Halo 4 like this...

2. Why in God's name is "Team Hotshot" and "Power Slayer" in Action Sack? Heck, "Power Slayer" has slayer right in the name! These really belong in Slayer Playlists, if you ask me.

3. Grifball, and other sports, need their own K/D.

Nope all bad ideas

No they aren't you tool.

All of these make complete sense, especially the forfeit button. I cannot STAND being forced to play a full 15 minute match against a single player. They should certainly be given a chance to just forfeit.

I think power slayer and hot shot are just bad gametypes and should not exist at all. Maybe if there was a double XP weekend or something, but there isn't.

And yah, grifball should have it's own category just as invasion does, because it really does invalidate 'Competetive' stats. Maybe if they just had a category for "Casual games" and just put grifball and infection in there

  • 02.23.2012 4:59 AM PDT

I support the idea of a forfeit button, when I get into a match and there is a crazy amount of lag, yeah I don't want to stay there.

I also like the idea for K/D from casual games other than matchmaking, because it's rather annoying to get into griffball against a KSI group who just wants to hold the ball and farm kills. This could easily be fixed with a timer on the ball to blow up if you hold it to long.

Games like power slayer and hot shot don't belong in the Action Sack gamelist, maybe make the Juggernaut list and hold it there.

Something else that would be cool if a limit was set on it would be real credits from custom games, maybe just medals earned, with a 25 thousand per day credit cap.

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

Grenades are too easy to use. Reset back to Halo 2 grenade attributes.

Shield takes far too long to start regenerating.

Auto aim on the ZB Needle Rifle is too high. Lessen it.

1. Quit out.. No need for a forfeit button.
2. Nope, they are more "fun type" slayer games so they should be in action sack.
3. Nope.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

1) That's what the "leave game" option is for. The other team will still win if everyone on the other team leaves, by the way.

2) Those two gametypes are fine where they're at, they don't belong in Slayer just because of the name.

3) I believe that you can access specific K/D ratios by playlists.

  • 02.23.2012 10:22 AM PDT

Yeah, cause quitting out has no repercussions... /sarcasm

What the hell is fun about Hotshot and Power Slayer? Nothing. But they are "shoot at people with power weapons" games, which I believe warrant the Slayer playlist.

Edit: I think the Slayer playlist lovers just say "they are fine where they are at" because they don't want such crappy game types in their precious playlist.

Yes to this one. Living dead, Grifball and Action Sack should have separate stats.. call it recreation or something.

3. Nope.

1.there is nothing wrong with a forfeit button, just last night i had to quit out 3 times and got a 15 minute ban each time cuz my teammates were just trying to betray me in griffball...so quitting out is not always fair

3. whats wrong with the griffball k/d being its own stat aside from the rest of competitive, r u just mad you k/d would go down?

Maybe if they just had a category for "Casual games" and just put all of Reach except MLG in there

Hello! I'm a male!

How to fix Halo: Reach. Take Halo out of the title. There we go it's all fixed now.

  • 02.23.2012 12:24 PM PDT

Welcome to the internet. Joy dies here.

1. Realistically, the easiest thing to do would be remove the quit ban. Then the quit button is an individual forfeit button, with no drawback. Well, aside from not getting some credits.
2. Meh - I guess. I wouldn't mind seeing some new gametypes in Team Slayer. Hell, Elite Slayer is there - so why not? lol
3. Yes. All objective games should track to an objective k/d. Or just not at all. That would reduce the incentive for idiots to farm their stats. That, or they could fix every objective map so standing next to a spawn point prevent players from spawning there.

  • 02.23.2012 12:39 PM PDT

Reach makes me want to gargle gasoline whiling jerking myself off with sandpaper.

1 and 2 are retarded

3 is playlist K/D

Absolutely not.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

1 and 2 aren't issues in my opinion, but Grifball/other "casual" playlists have their own K/D's, as do all other playlists.
But I see what you mean. If all the playlists I don't play often didn't count toward my overall K/D, also Grifball and Living Dead, my K/D would be between 1.6 and 1.75.

1. If you hit the forfeit button in those grifball games where you team was betraying you it wouldn't have done anything because you would need a full team of "forfeits" for the game to end. If a forfeit button was used just to quit out of games like that people would use it to get around the quit ban.

3. Nope actually my K/D would go up, my overall k/d is higher than both my lolivingdead and grifball stats

Except for all the playlists with objective and slayer gametypes mixed like BTB. But nobody pads in BTB, right? lol

Why? Do you really think it impacts the amount of quitting that occurs?

Why should people be allowed to freely quit, with no consequences, to ruin the other players game? You got punished for quitting in Halo 3, why not Reach?

I know this might come as a surprise to you, but Halo 3 =/= Reach. And it's not like deranking was 'punishment' unless you had a 50. It just made your games easier.

A different system of preventing quitting might help, but people will find a way to abuse or circumvent anything that gets put in place. Might as well just let everyone quit.

The current system is fine, if anything the ban length needs to be longer, or gradually increase every time you get quit banned. This game is still filled with rampant quitting.

I don't even see any serious ways to circumvent the quit ban, dashboarding is like a hit or miss and it's not like everyone has another GT. But that's not a reason to not have a system to deal with quitting.

That's irrelevant in every way. The fact that players can lose out due to quits is still there, and the quit ban is simply a different method to that of the one supplied by the 1-50 system.

There's always going to be a way to abuse quitting; at least the quit ban prevents from it happening as much and it actually does its job. Saying "might as well give up" is a cop out to a bad problem, and the quit ban has lesser repercussions compared to those of not having any system at all.

If they fixed the various gametypes that basically require you to quit regularly like BTB I would agree with you, but a stronger quit ban at this point just means half of the game is unplayable without a full party. As it stands it's not far off from that.

I think it would be beneficial to try to incentivize players to stay in games, instead of disincentivizing them from quitting.
