1.) The maximum number of players could stand to be bumped up to 24 like BF2:MC, but this might have a big impact on the game as Halo has some wonderful maps that only 8 players work well on.
2.) Map editor, ala Farcry Instincts: Predator. Could be interesting, and it'd give machinima producers more to work with.
3.) Movie Making gametype, or at least a camera weapon that you could swap for one of the weapons on the map. The weapon would be visible to others, and animations wouldn't be all that different from the rockets.
4.) Get rid of all the Pistol/BR bull-blam!- and throw a combo rifle in. Selectable between jungle burst and full-auto. Full auto would be MUCH less accurate unless you used single shots.
5.) As a counter to #4, throw the BR AND pistol back in. Reduce the power of the pistol by half and allow people to dual wield it. You could easily get six shots off with dual pistols faster than four with the BR.
7.) SMG's could make a return as well as the AR, but only if the speed of dual SMG's could counter the power of the AR. Mabye make the SMG's a bit less powerful than the AR and a bit less accurate, but have them fire faster.
8.) NO FUEL ROD IN MULTIPLAYER. Seriously, every time I play Halo PC I'm constantly getting owned by some FRG whore.
9.) The shotgun. Fix it. 'Nuff said.
10.) Give the sword a battery and long respawn time.
11.) Speaking of respawn times for weapons, throw them back to the Halo 1 style except for power weapons on certain maps. On a map like Lockout, the Sniper Rifle NEEDS to respawn if someone has it, but the sword dosen't. On something like Coag, the rifles and rockets need to respawn but with a really long timer, mabye five to seven minutes. That way you don't have an entire 12 man team sniper whoring.
12.) If we're gonna have a max of 24 players, throw dropships in there. Pelicans, Phantoms, whatever.
13.) A human counter to the Banshee and Ghost.
14.) Something like Assault on UT2004, in which one team is given multiple objectives and another has to defend. This could easily be done with Spartans vs. Elites, or if they're so inclined to do so, Bungie could throw other character types in there for only this gametype, but nobody could have shields.
15.) I want a gametype that resembles BF2 in every way, down to character selection. It's be set up like territories currently is only you could spawn at different territories, but you could select between many different classes. Spartans, ODST's, medics, etc. I think it'd be cool to see a bunch of grunts running around in multiplayer. Seriously, if DICE can do it with BF2 and Epic and do it with Unreal Tournament, Bungie can do it with Halo 3.
16.) A mix between traditional matchmaking and traditional server selection. Bungie needs to give us the option to either go into a matchmade game or allow the party leader to select a server.
17.) Keep the party system as-is. I love it and want it in every other game. Ever.
18.) Concerning campaign mode, I'd like to see another Spartan, even if you don't get to play as him/her.
19.) Online co-op, of any kind. Something is better than nothing.
20.) Three words: Hang 'em High.
