I have a few things i'd like to share as to why tha tis not a coive capital ship.
1. In the video, when the master chief is walkinig towards the crater, the ships are moving towards the crater or are on stand by, as seen in the trailer. Its only when the aratifact activates that the ships begin to flee. Now the ship in the visor, i'd say is definately not on standby and its definately not moving in the direction of the crater (provided this particular shot of the chief is taken from the trailer in the actual game).
2. That thing in the visor has two big thrusters visible. But unlike the covenant capital ship thrusters, that thing's thrust(s) has no tail(s). The covenant ship thrusters are much smaller in size and they are usually three of them, not two.
3. There is a color contrast between the sides and the middle raised portion of the seen object. that sort of contrast is missing, usually, in a covenant capital ship.
4. And if someone is to argue that the ship is turning inwards and that is the reason the third thruster is not visible. Wel, then you should also consider that the width of a covie capital ship is huge as compared to that seen in here and the thrust from the thrusters would also not be so prominent.
These things do suggest that object in the Chief's visor to be something else, and not a Covenant cruiser or capital ship.

I'm open to ideas.

longswords do work in an atmosphere (the one followed the spartan's pelican into reach's atmosphere until the serephs appeared) so if it is human, it is likely a pelican or longsword

^righto my fellow nondumbass brethren.

looks like a phantom to me. >_>

*looks at picture again* either I'm absolutely blind, or that is NOT a Phantom.

I think it's a CES (Covenant Excavation Ship) with a tint from the visor.

*cough*

If the longsword doesn't operate in atmosphere, than how did Chief escape in one off Halo in the first game?

*claps*

Also, because of broken links galore, here is a working link of the helmet from the wallpaper close up:
