Is what Gravemind/Cortana saying maybe really Forerunner talk. Or said because of Graveminds knowledge of the Forerunners past and the humans future thanks to the Covenant leting the Flood escape.

Hasn't it been said the Forerunners were studying the Flood and so is it possible Gravemind is just something left behind that the Forerunners created genetically or just knew and had contact with. Or is it possible Gravemind studied the past of the Forerunners while on the Halo Rings, plus he should know what all the Flood on all the rings find out. Aren't they "One Mind, One Body" It could even be that Gravemind failed to reach a truce with the Forerunners and was banished to the rings.(based on him being flood) It isn't like he was telling his Flood pals to leave you alne after the Arbiter and MC met him. Makes me wonder about his "Flood Status"

He seems to be quite smart. I would die if he were a Forerunner although I believe it has been proven he is Flood right? Maybe absorbed one to many Forerunners.

Well please expand on these ideas and as I always say.

The H3 Trailer is an advertisement. One of the most intriguing I have seen but at the same time, I feel that it is a good trap.

I figured that Cortana is reaching her "breaker" point in how much information she processes. Dr. Hasley's Smart A.I.'s right? 7 years?

I think in halo 3 cortana is being controld by grave mind

  • 05.21.2006 9:19 PM PDT

I remember that there was a thread back in New Mombasa that stated that Cortana was turning "evil". It could be what's happening now with all the glitches and now. Also with the fact that the MC and Cortana are like a galaxy apart, you never know what's happen logically.

It's like leaving your girlfriend home with your persuasive friend.

There is something about that Gravemind that is a big secret. Maybe i am way off but who knows.

He is smart for a reason. He is kind of a prisoner like he represents the Flood but in a bizaar way. That is why I can't understand why he didn't have them back off after he has you help him.

It won't ruin it for me. I would just love to be right about one thing in the story. Some people on here are 8 or 13 so this is the perfect place to be heard.

I think it's what you said earlier, since the flood is on Halo, and Halo was built by the forerunners. It could be that Gravemind was once a Forerunner? Look at Cap'n Keyes and how big he grew...err yea!

  • 05.21.2006 10:36 PM PDT

Yeah but who would believe that except you or I?

Wait a minute, wasn't that a Covenant Capital ship Keyes was on when he was infected. So what ever happened to that ship? I was not blown up I don't think. Could that be anything special?

I remember the time I was kidnapped and they sent a piece of my finger to my father. He said he wanted more proof.

I dunno, how about we find out when Halo 3 comes out? You guys are wasting your time and trying to ruin the story for yourself.

I can't agree with you more.

I can't disagree with you more.

meh........

I can't agree or disagree.........more? No wait, I'm confused. Where am I?

Why do people care about others indulging in some stimulating discussion on their favorite game.

So those who care probably have never posted any thoughts about anything they think will happen.

Gravemind is a freek with a secret that is the key to everything. How could he know so much and be able to reach anyplace he likes. He was the main research lead on Halo an the Flood got him and now he is a mix of Forerunner and Flood.

He can survive eating food unlike the Flood's food. The Flood are using his smarts to learn all they could about Halo and it's purpose.

That is why Cortana says she knows his past because she has learned from Gravemind and the Halo in H2 what they never had time to in Halo CE.

What do you suppose Gravemind asked Cortana after she said "Shoot' at the end of H2.

They must have discussed a million things and maybe now Gravemind is nice.

Maybe she bargained all the Covenant for Earth to be free. We would send them to the rings and the Flood would have food. (Crazy but who knows anyway)

You know Gravemind asked the following.

Why are you here?
Why are the Covenant here?
What is this Great Journey?

It wasn't like he said holy crap what is this little hologram and all this technology. He was keen on it all. No Flood would ever know that or even be civilized enough to talk.

He had a very intelligent conversation, knowing the rings purpose.

I will revert: He is a Flood/Forerunner that has a doomed existence and probably want to be free.

Damn snipers!!!

I have now read the books...

your stupid makes my brain sad

after he releases mc and the arbi, cortana says to mc he tricked us...we were a diversion...or something to that affect

  • 05.22.2006 8:08 AM PDT

Let's go Rangers!

Cortana is more than likely on the verge of rampancy, as I believe her seven years of stable operation are nearly up.

I could be wrong. Let's just see what happens.

I'm saying Gravemind is like the lead flood, and the Halo itself was made to be a prison for it. But about Cortona I dunno if she's evil, because if she has the ability to make up her own mind I dun see why she would become a trader at the end of the war. She's smart she'd probably just playing the Gravemind.

  • 05.22.2006 8:16 AM PDT

I thought Cortana could shut the MC down if she wanted to. Hmm...

Gravemind will be a big key to this story. Him even explaining the Halo's purpose is a cover up to preserve the Floods food supply. They have been on the rings for a long time and still haven't starved so the rings are useless against them.

There has to be a better way to kill them. If they are on the rings, why not implode them all killing the Flood.

Maybe the first ring in Halo CE is still spinning through space and landed on a planet infesting that one too. HAHA.

Anyway I hope to continue after work and that is if I can still find this thread.

Long live the Gravemind. Ruler of the Flood and Forerunner knowledge.

Gravemind is a Gravy clue!

Remember when you first start the level High Charity? Cortana says that you were just a distraction for him to get on High Charity. The Gravemind used you, this is why they still attack, because he was never really on your side.

  • 05.22.2006 10:59 AM PDT

True but he still needed to make sure they key wasn't turned right?

Wouldn't that interupt his plan.

Maybe Gravemind doesn't feed off people like Flood does normally.

  • 05.22.2006 11:28 AM PDT

Also I just read it elsewhere. If the MC or the Arboter fail and the ring is activated he will be screwed as well.

So it still makes no sense why he didn't help by keeping the Flood off them.
