I think both are a bit too tiny for gravemind.

  • 05.21.2006 11:36 PM PDT

I'd have to agree with that, GM looks a bit big for a dropship. A capital ship would definately be in order if he wants to be mobile. As far as teleportation, its a no go outside of halo, as halo's teleportation grid is what makes it possible.

Well, the way I look at it, there were a ton of Covenant ships fighting right outside High Charity. If the flood can control pelicans, they could (see: could = theory not proven, I may be completely wrong) go take over one of those ships. Then gravemind moves on board, and voom! they're gone.

Except Cortana probably wouldn't let that happen, BUT she doesn't seem to be too keen on the whole "I'm still a rational intelligence" thing.

  • 05.21.2006 11:39 PM PDT

If GM does want to vacate Delta space, that's how I see it happening. HOWEVER, I'm not sure if he's to keen on leaving just yet.... As for Cortana... who knows. Her actions sure do seem weird, but I doubt she's nuts/rampant/betraying anyone.

I think she's betraying her rampant nuts. Which really sounds worse than I wanted it to lol...

I, for one, would rather rinse my eyes in vinegar than see Cortana with nuts, rampant or otherwise.

Think of it like this, GM can control the Teleport on Halo. and cortana is In the HC Computers.

Whats Stopping GM accessing the HC Computers and semi hacking/controlling Cortana. She is only a computer program after all.

but... gravemind doesn't move... and is underground.

And he can teleport stuff. We'd die in less time than it'd take to go "Oh damn, it's gravemind."

Oh dam its the juggernaut -blam!-h

I have walked the edge of the Abyss.I have governed the unwilling.I have witnessed countless empires break before me.I have seen the most courageous soldiers fall away in fear.[I was there with the Angel at the tomb]
I have seen your future.
And I have learned.
There will be no more Sadness. No more Anger. No more Envy.
I HAVE WON.
Oh, and your poet Eliot had it all wrong:

yeh no boss shiznit,
Halo CE had the best ending ever, simple, innovative, to the point, and not a trip down mario lane. Boss battles are hard to make innovative, plus they have to give the boss crappy super powers so u cant just kill him in one shot.
Whats all this Arbiter, gravemind cortana talk anyway?
We are in the middle of a war against an entire race, and the flood. This calls for a big blamming battle. And the ability to take down their ships.
If Bungie makes it a boss level like they ruined the ending of halo 2 with ill bomb bungie offices and then NO MORE GAMING FUN FOR ANYONE!!!!!

Gravemind is a little big for chief to take on himself, unless he has to fight him with a banshee or a worthog... now that would be cool. Maybe a large scale vehicle battle with Cortana and Gravemind vs. Cheif and the and some ODST land cavalry (Cortana would be controlling those HUGE sentinals with the missile launchers from Halo 2) .

if uve read the halo novels ud know that the chief has alot more than his guns, banshees and warthogs up his sleeve. He could destroy Gravemind in any number of ways. Not to mention grenades, detonaters and nukes. He could rocket launcher of his tentacles one at a time, and then blow up the body for a huge finale.
But back to my point,
BOSS LEVELS SUCK

Hell yes, H3 needs a huge ground battle with hundreds of covies and humans fighting for thier lives. I think that would just be the most kickass thing ever. NO bosses, Tartarus was a stupid idea for a boss, no where near as hard as driving a hog through a maze ontop an exploding ship, being shot by flood and covenant.

The inclusion of the other Spartans would be great, but it's not going to happen.

Right on brother
*high 5's solaris*
Huge battle all the way
Now as a compromise i was just thinking of a way that we can compromise the 2 ideas together.
We can have the big blamming battle going on, all three sides whoopassing it out. And then while the chief is running around doing his thing, when he runs into a huge bosslike character like gravemind or cooler, on the battlefield. No loading screens or nuthin, just whammy in the middle of the battle. Then after you take him down the game isnt over yet, u still have to finish the battle in spectacular final climax style, trumpets a blazing
oh yeah, lets kick it

Lol, thats a kickass idea! Maybe it could be those covenant creatures supposedly bigger than the hunters (can't rember its name)

yeh that dude they showed on the limited edition DVD. The convenants big finale and final resort to clean up stragglers in battle i think they described it as. Theyd definitely have the power to pull that guy off now. That would be awesome in battle, a whole troop of them spread out among the rest of the covenant. Knock em down and squash dozens of other covenant in the process.
oh -blam!-, and imagine the flood form of those babies!!! Not to mention th flood form of the hunters. Imagine the possibilities

  • 05.22.2006 1:21 AM PDT

There can't be a flood hunter form. Brute, maybe.

Iono? What the -blam!- is Iono? Some relation to Yoko?

Bosses? Well we did Donkey Kong in the last one, I guess that leaves Bowser.

No really though. No bosses. Regret and the Heretic leader weren't great, and Tartarus just made me laugh. Laugh with despair. Let's have something exciting like they did in Halo 1, not some cheesy arcade mini-game against a super-enemy.

why does every1 think chief/arbiter would fight gravemind
theyr'e on the same side! prevetn the activation of the ark!
i think the final boss will be of forerunner origin

if chief is looking for the index on graveminds command in the later h2 levels, why do flood still attack him? really stupid

I'm not to sure about that. Take a look at the tralior again at about one min into it and look at the MC's face plate. Its either lightining from the strom behind you reflecting in his plate or (assuming you've read the books) its the blue id's winking on for the 3/4 other spartans. He also seems to nod.

I agree with the rest, one massive battle with EVERYTHING, medivial style! Charging through lines on warthogs firing at everything. Would be cool, but probably take to long to code. AND NO DAM BOSS BATTLES!!! IT SCREWED H2 UP!!

perhaps a mixture of the two

EPIC BATTLE BETWEEN ALL (FORERUNNER, COVENANT LOYALISTS, FLOOD, HUMANS AND ELITES) AND MAYBE COMMANDERS FOR EACH GROUP WHICH NEED TO BE TAKEN OUT
