And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

How about Michael Jackson vs Gravemind? It'll be an epic fight! Jk, but seriously, it'll be cool if you are forced to fight your way into the Ark and plant a nuke to destroy it, and Gravemind got to Earth by one of the ships docked to High Charity, and everytime a piece of dark, creepy music plays, you have to find a place to hide, and you have to find it fast, and after the music stops, you see Gravemind moving past with hundreds of flood following him. And occasionally, you see them meet up with some Covenant patrolling the ship. Then, when you finally reach the center, you see hell breaking loose as Covenant fight the flood and eachother, then as you take one step, they stop fighting and look at you, as MC turns on a plassy, he says "how ya doing fellas?" As they start to fight eachother and progress towards you, you throw the plassy into the center, Every army moves quickly away from the grenade, and you take out the nuke, plant it on the control panel, and run for the phantom, just as Gravemind shows up, as you go up the lift and for the phantom's control panel, you see Gravemind move towards you, you fire a few shots at him to slow him down and speed off, now, as you regain control, you are finally using a phantom, you must fly at top speed past the sentinals, covenant and flood fighting, you are unable to fire shots, or in co-op, your partner takes care of one or multiple turrets, as you speed through the Ark trying to find an escape route, you see a counter with 5 minutes, and you must pick up the remaining spartans on your way out, as you pick up spartans, they will take care of more and more turrets, eg. one spartan for each turret, or in co-op, your partner takes one or multiple turrets. Just as you reach the end, you hear Cortana's voice "Chief, pick me up on the computer system nearby, I've escaped from Gravemind" And a NAV point appears, once you get near it, a cutscene plays, MC gets out of the Phantom, runs towards the computer system, and hears Cortana "ARRRGGGH, A Forerunner failsafe AI is deleting me! Quickly, before it deletes me completely, yank me from the computer!" MC Quickly touches the computer with his hand, it's too late, Chief takes a moment of silence to mourn his loss, then his hand turns into a fist, he runs back into the phantom, mounts up and gets the Phantom started, Linda, one of the Spartans says "Uh, Chief? What the hell is that?" Chief looks at the backview of the ship, Gravemind is moving up behind them, and fast. As you gain control, you must use all your piloting skills to dodge Gravemind's attacks while trying to escape after about a 50 second adrenalin rushing race, the final cutscene plays, The opening into the Ark is closing, and fast, MC tells the spartans to stop firing so he can use all the energy he can on speed. As the ship goes faster, you see a tentacle whip out to the comparatively tiny Phantom, MC tilts the alien dropship slightly, and they just barely make it out. Just as the tentacle follows them out, it is disembodied by the closing opening, as the Phantom is still going at top speed, we see the Ark explode and the prongs are blown out of their place, they fly a few hundred kilometers into the air and go back down impaling the ground. As the explosions and fire die down, it shows clear that nothing survived it. The Chief sets the Phantom down, and they get out, as they look at the still enflamed remains, Chief says "It's over, we've finished." "Affirmative, reclaimer, what a waste, but it did kill all of the flood that were released." An unknown voice says.
Masterchief looks around, 343 Guilty Spark is there, with Johnson, Keyes, The Arbiter, and the Covenant Seperatists, "Keyes, Johnson, why are you with the enemy?" Masterchief whispered loud enough for people to hear. "Relax Chief, they're on our side. Long story. Sorry we missed the party." Masterchief sighed, "well, what happens now?"
"We go home." Masterchief, the covenant seperatists, Johnson, Keyes and 343 guilty spark get in the 10 phantoms (9 were used to carry the seperatists) and fly off as the screen fades.

I had a kinda good starting, but I stuffed up the end, Rate it anyway.

First, stare3, try paragraphs or something.

Secondly, Truth gets absorbed by gravemind. But instead of gravemind taking over truth, truth somehow corrupts gravemind! Then because truth uses a hoverchair, cortana gets inside it's computers and then takes over truth who is tkaing over gravemind!

Super duper Cortruthmind!

How about a huge battle where Covenant Sepratists and Humans team up against The Covenant Loyalists, and you can choose to be The Arbiter or MC, and as the battle goes on, in one way or another, the Flood shows up. Gravemind is there but you don't have to fight him after a while, the battle still raging, the story cuts back to regular levels.

Then there is some spectacular ending about 1 level later. No races against time. Even though it was awesome in Halo: CE, it would just be a repeat. Maybe something more along the lines of The Maw crossed with Assault on the Control Room.

Q. What do you get when you add 1 man, 1 car, and 1 rocket built for a jet?

A. A black smudge on the side of a cliff.

Who says the Halo series neeed boss battles hmm? Nobody. So, why should we be worring about what that boss may be?

  • 05.22.2006 8:39 AM PDT

Why do I get the feeling that the Gravemind is not evil? Am I the only one?

Also, I say we run from a big explosion, the boss battles were pretty easy in Halo 2. If they do bring back boss battles in Halo 3, I hope they make them much harder. The bosses are so easy that I sometimes mistake them for normal enemies.

-blam!- dude.. if i lost my hand... i would... I would die... If i couldn;t play games... I would prolly go break in to Bungie studio's and oggle at my Heaven, before fighting off about 3 gaurds, then i might be taken down... (Imbig you see) so after that... they would take out BR's and start head sho0ting me...

I would die.... but it would be pretty funny.

No Boss... But like... THE BIGGEST BATTLE EVAR!

Im talking like... everything... Somthing like the end of Halo 1... Except that you have to run like 10 miles breaking through hoards of three different species. then, the optional: hoping on 1 foot while dualweilding pistola's shooting down forrunner ships while blind-folded with a Pirate bandana while 50 hunters stand between you and the Pirate flag. The walls are lined with Invisable elites all dual weilding a sword and a RL. You havea warthog... but its out of Gas because simmons is an idiot.

NOW THATS AN ENDING.

Why would they be fighting if they're on the same side? Besides, without giving him some ubershield or something, he'd come across as just another elite. I mean, Bungie's AI is great, but no AI can match what a human player would do.

  • 05.22.2006 8:57 AM PDT

Damn snipers!!!

I have now read the books...

your stupid makes my brain sad

NO BOSSES PLEASE!!!!!!!!....we didnt have them in CE,and i didnt like the mario feel of H2s bosses, H2s campain is not as good as CEs but MP makes up for that...whith H3 being 4 player OL co-op who knows what we'll have next

When you hear the thunder, and see the lightning, get ready...for the perfect storm...

It would be a funny thing to fight against Cortana as teh final boss. I mean, come on now, if she has turn evil as the trailer suggests, then we might as well fight her to the death, then when we defeat her, in her last dying microbite, she would activate the Self-Destruct (if we are on a ship or in a building structure ) and we would have to run for are lives heading out of of there to the nearest ship and blast off before we go KABOOM. LOL

I'm going to go ahead and guess that Chief'll have to deal with Cortana in some capacity, whether it's a playable sequence or a cinematic (I prefer the latter). Gravemind will most likely make another appearance, and if I had to actually fight a character in gameplay, I'd like to take on Gravemind.

I'm a fan of tense final scenes that don't have to center around a "boss fight." Racing the clock in the 'hog in CE was a great ending sequence. Something akin to that would be more to my liking as the finish of H3.

There's my $0.02.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

how about no boss and no race
defend the ark from the covenant loyalists and forerunners who want to activate it
and the flood who want to destroy it (which destroys earth too)

An ending boss? thats simple!

Truth taken other by flood, on a direct mind-link to gravemind, and he's connected to loads of machines and his chair, and is shooting like in all different ways, and you have to figure out how to dodge each one and then shoot him and kill him with the weapons you get given.

And when he dies, the mind-link get broken, also killing gravemind, and stopping GM's control over cortonna.

These are my ideas...not leaks.
